We often hear people talk of how life was ''so much better'' under colonial rule. Some have advocated (and not always tongue in cheek) for the British to return and rule over us. This is a sentiment borne of ignorance regarding what truly went down in that era. Fact is, despite our current problems, we should be thankful for independence, for we ARE making progress, however 'slowly'.
