ezechueze: I do not think being a lawyer is the issue. Lawyers have excellent transferable skills and are quick learners. Boardrooms are full of lawyers, engineers, medics, historians, etc. It is Nigerian set up where proper job delegation is poor. Seasoned civil servants with requisite expertise run most departments and advice the ministers. But in 9ja, experts are overlooked & relegated. Career politicians & acolytes are drafted in. People in power are power-drunk and do things at their own whims and caprice. |
