BEFORE NIGERIANS GET USED TO POVERTY AND HUNGER...LET US REMEMBER by mordsith: 7:29pm On Nov 05, 2016
Life could be full of surprises. A couple of months before the election Nigerians were yearning for something better. We yearned for when the government would pay 5,000 to unemployed youths. We looked forward to when our children would have government sponsored meals and jobs would be plentiful.

However what Nigerians got was wholesale poverty and lack. In just the first few months of Buhari’s administration Banks and industries laid off huge number of staff. Nigerians have not witnessed such massive retrenchment in its 16 years of Democracy. Millions have lost their jobs and more are still losing their jobs as the government is yet to possess any direction in terms of economic policy and structure.

The aim of this write-up is not to remind Nigerians of the gnawing poverty that this government has introduced to them but rather that we shouldn’t fold our arms and accept poverty and hunger as the new way of life.

Generally Nigerians are resilient people; we tend to cope with hardships rather than protest. We agree to suffer and smile than rise up to reject these Ambassadors of Poverty Congress [APC]. Many Nigerians have decided to commit suicide while others have simply adjusted to eating once in two days. Yet more have begun trekking to work and skipping the popular rice meal due to its heavy cost.

This appeal is to all Nigerians that before they become used to poverty they should pause to remember the good old days. We should never accept poverty rather we should extradite these Ambassadors of Poverty Congress [APC].

>BEFORE WE GET USED TO EATING ONCE A DAY, LET US REMEMBER WHEN RICE WAS AFFORDABLE AND THREE SQUARE MEALS WAS NOT A LUXURY.

>BEFORE WE GET USED TO FEAR OF BUHARI, LET US REMEMBER THE DAYS WHEN WE COULD CURSE THE PRESIDENT [GEJ] AND SLEEP PEACEFULLY.

>BEFORE WE GET USED TO TREKKING LONG DISTANCE LET US REMEMBER WHEN FUEL PRICE WAS #87 AND WAS STILL CONSIDERED EXHORBITANT.

>FINALLY LET US REMEMBER THAT POVERTY AND HUNGER CAME WITH THE AMBASSADORS OF POVERTY CONGRESS [APC] AND IS NOT OUR BIRTHRIGHT.

SOON ALL WILL BE WELL, BUT IN THE MEAN TIME POVERTY IS NOT THE PORTION OF THE NIGERIAN PEOPLE. Like this page if you agree.
