the age cap has rendered alot of people jobless because most employers exploits/use it as a way to frustrate those who seems qualified for such post not to apply and allowed them the opportunity to employ their siblings who might not ordinary qualify for such job and position.......... 1 Like |

This is the only reasonable thing the senate since their inauguration have mentioned that makes sense in this country. Considering the strike action and other pitiable conditions faced by average and poor students, they finished from school at age that is above the limit set by companies. Imagine a stupid job advert by one known organisation requesting for 7years minimum experience, second class upper (min) and max age of 25yrs. What kind of ridiculous requirement is this if not only kids from private institution who can even barely meet this stringent condition. 1 Like |

Good intention but not practicable. Employers are forced to use criteria as age, type of degree etc to screen out many because they wouldn't be able to cope with the huge number of applications if they remove such. The only solution is creating more jobs. when employers realise they can no longer find 'jobless' youths, they will be forced to hire the 'older' ones. Simple. |
