So if the 1,000,000 tons of rice Kebbi state government claim they harvested this season is true, then it means they can survive without depending on any allocation from the central government and i believe other states/regions can also survive too.

I mean 1,000,000tons x 907.18kg/50kg = 18,143800 bags of rice. If Kebbi state government decides to buy it from the farmers and sell it to rice milling company @ a profit margin of 5k per bag, it means they will be making about NGN90.7 billion annually. So assuming this is the only income they make in a yr. lets divide it by 12, they will be making about NGN8billion monthly compared to NGN2billion allocation (average) they've been getting this year. NGN8b is more than their quarterly allocation from the central government. My question is this, do we have to wait for the proceeds from oil?

Even America where we borrowed the federal system allow Texas and Louisiana the benefit of their oil wells and they only pay royalties to the Federal Government in Washington.In Nigeria, the Federal government will annex the state and community resources and still have the nerve to call itself "Federal Republic of Nigeria"
