El Rufai And His Tantrum By Richard Akinnola by oduneja: 10:38am On Nov 16, 2016 |
If there is someone who has no locus standi to
accuse anyone of being corrupt, it is El Rufai. Or
is Jimi Lawal still not one of his Special Advisers
and close confidante in Kaduna? That El Rufai is
just a bloody opportunist, a fair weather friend.
When it was convenient for him, he was the best
of friend with Nuhu Ribadu but when there was
a clash of presidential ambitions of the duo, he
ditched his friend Nuhu and lied against him in
his book, which l called the Accidental liar. Atiku
brought him to the BPE and nominated him as a
minister.
When he was at the BPE and in the good books
of then Vice president Atiku, El Rufai granted an
interview wirh the Guardian in September 2003.
When asked about allegations of corruption
against Atiku, he said those making such
allegations don't know Atiku, that he was not a
corrupt person.
He said:"At BPE, l had a completely free hand. I
took independent decisions and not once dud
the Vice president even asked me to bend the
rules for anyone. The bidding for the sale of any
company, because of the way we structured it,
was so transparent that there was no way
anyone could know who would win. So, if you
cannot arrange anyone in advance and bribe
someone to win, why should you pay
somebody? But the people want to believe the
worst about our leaders and l don't blame them
because we have had leaders who had done all
kinds of things. But l happen to know the story of
Atiku Abubakar".
Barely three years after, El Rufai had now
switched camp to OBJ and he began to sing new
tunes.
Speaking on BBC "Focus on Africa" on February
22, 2007, El Rufai said:"The president's greatest
worry about the vice president running for the
office is the wrong message it will send. The vice
president has been engaged in corruption for a
long time..." And this same man later fought
OBJ.
Can the testimony of such a double-faced man
be taken with some tinge of seriousness?
When this opportunist needed the political
suppirt and votes of the Shiites for him to win as
Kaduna governor, he went to genuflect before El
Zakzzaki, the Shiites leader. But today, having
achieved his purpose, he is the traducer of the
Shiites.
This was the same opportunist who had
lampooned Buhari few years ago, saying he was
not a fit and proper person to be president, now
today, one of the closest allies of Buhari.
Whatever El Rufai is saying today against Atiku
should not be taken seriously. It's the
presidential battle of 2019 that is at play. El
Rufai, since 2006 had nursed presidential
ambition and he is laying the blocks for his 2019
presidential ambition and he is ready to
politically decapitate anyone that stands in his
way - even Buhari. |

el rufai is one man that should never be allowed to rule that country. he is a hypocrite, a bigot, an Islamist, very blood thirsty and a Muslim irredentist. I will vote atiku with his corruption over and over again than to vote saint el rufai |
