Hi,

I've just started eating beans but I have never cooked it before and my mum never cooks it.

Please can somone give me several ways on how to make it.

Beans by it's self

and then

beans with tomato sauce.

just boil it till its soft, then add ground pepper/tomato and other spices as u wish, its quite straigh-forward just avoid adding 2 much water from the onset

try and eat it with agege bread too.

i remember when i was growing up and we used to buy beans and the mama will put more water and we will spread gari on the beans and that will soak the water on the beans.

Never liked that one. What I meant was beans in one plate, soaking ijebu garri with cold water and sugar,if you like, in a bowl or cup

I like that too, but i noticed that i get constipated afterwards, so i try to stay away from it.

As far as I know, there is bloody beans(much palm oil), swimming pool beans(too much water), fried beans(fry stew then pour the boiled beans inside) and white beans(cooked with veg. oil). you'll understand when you visit some hostels in skools. They are all cooked in the same way depending on what u want. Some with fresh pepper and some with dried pepper. Some people(especially Delta) allow the beans to burn a little to add a diff. taste entirely. Let me knw if u want more lectures.

To reduce gas that beans causes and heart burn, boil bean, drain water after 15-20 mins and use clean water to cook and add other condiments.

only poor guys eat beans
a lady eats beans cus of protein
guys eats beans cuz it is cheaper than rice.

i dont know why,each time i cook Ewa Oloyin,it makes me Purge,but if i eat ordinary red beans,i feel OK, what can cause this

beans and plantain is really good. I eat bloody beans  for launch n still have some left. Who cares? Hauwa don't even think about it.

I enjoy beans porridge, cooked with yam, potatoes or banana, cut in small cubes, very delicious. The garri and beans mix is called "sokudale" because if you had it in the morning all you have to do is drinking water for the rest of the days, hunger is taken care off.

Back in those days in OAU, 8 out of 10 pots on stoves in Awo Hall would beans and the remaining 2 would be beans and something like rice or yam. lol.  Ife developed a breed of beans called "Ife Brown" that took less than 60 days from planting to harvest, that really came handy and helpful along with Agric eggs and FST bread.
