Conscience can easily be silenced. Many dull its voice and commit adultery and theft without a sense of guilt. Others even rape and murder and have no remorse. However, your question about the Sabbath is a good one.

I'm sure that you know that ignorance of the law is no excuse. You can violate civil law without knowing it and still be prosecuted, and the same applies with the moral Law. You may be ignorant of the fact that because God gave you your life, He requires that you give Him back one day in seven. But your ignorance of the Law is no excuse. Did you know that we are commanded to love God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength? Have you done that? It gets even worse. God’s Law commands that we be morally perfect (see Matthew 5:48).

Now you know the Law. Now you know how much you have sinned against God by violating the First of the Ten Commandments. Add to that lying, stealing, blasphemy, adultery, plus the many sins of the heart that God sees--such as lust, selfishness, hatred, greed, envy, etc., and you will suddenly see your need of God's mercy. Once you have His forgiveness through trust in Jesus, you will have everlasting life given to you as a free gift (see Romans 6:23). But that's not true. Nothing "hurts" God. The correct word to use, is that sin "angers" God. A judge isn't "hurt" when a criminal viciously rapes a woman, slits her throat and then laughs. The judge is "angered" by the crime. Sin is extremely serious to God--so serious it demands the death penalty and then damnation. See Romans 2:4-11.

Imagine if scientists took thousands of high-tech cameras, and placed them side-by-side at gradual and varying angles over a perfectly oval area. Then imagine if each of the thousands of cameras were individually connected to one visionary source, giving the viewer the ability to instantly detect the slightest motion.

The above experiment doesn't even to begin to describe the sophisticated design of the eye of the common fly. These little pests are hard to swat because of their amazing compound eyes which instantly detect motion.

Mark Twain believed in God, but he denied Genesis which explains why creation is disease-infested, self-devouring and death-ridden. He even spent some time in his writings railing on God because of the fly. He raved about its design, but at the same time he was angered by the filthiness of the creature.

Twain died a miserable and hopeless man, disillusioned by the continual pains of this life. Such is the predictable end of those who believe in God but deny that we live in a fallen creation.

I said that the philosophy of atheism is foolishness. The Bible says goes further and rightly says that atheists themselves are fools. They "became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools" (Romans 1:21-22).

"The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God'" (Psalm 14:1).

Regarding the justified concern about "hostile Muslims demanding Sharia Law, all over America." The atheist organization "Freedom from Religion" stripped our nation of "You shall have no other gods before Me."

So now they have allahu akbar with which to deal.

They removed "You shall not kill." Now they have to face the religion that cuts the heads off of those who don't follow.

Atheists need to get right with God and then seek His help. I would also suggest that they read their Bibles with a humble attitude.

They of course won't do that, because they don't believe it.

One day they will.

How do I know that God loves me? Is it because He fashioned my eyes with 137,000,000 light sensitive cells so that I could see color and beauty? Or because He gave us amazingly intricate ears to enjoy good music, or an unspeakably sophisticated brain to process information?

While I appreciate these as gifts from God, any one of them could be taken from me in a moment of time by a car accident or a stroke or aneurism. If I believed that they were the only tokens of His love, I would then think He no longer loved me.

Rather, I look to the cross. It stands forever as evidence of His amazing love: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
