In what appears as deliberate attempt to stir up a hornet’s nest for the purpose of putting the record straight, pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Nuhu Ribadu, on Thursday accused topflight lawyers in the country as the major obstacle to the nation’s fight against graft.

He said the scope of his allegation was between 1999 and 2007 when he left office as the chairman of EFCC while his focus was on specific lawyers and the roles they played during the time and after his tenure.

Ribadu who spoke on Thursday at the 2016 Annual Lecture organised by the Law Chambers of Joe Kyari Gadzama (SAN) in Abuja unveiled the identities of the first class lawyers and the role they played in frustrating corruption fight in the country.

He however said that there were also members of the Nigerian bar who played very critical roles in encouraging the EFCC’s fight against graft.
