A former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on Friday in Abuja, advised President Muhammadu Buhari to jettison the proposed plan to take $30 billion foreign loan because of its grave consequences.

According to him, even if the Senate approves the loan, no foreign nation or financial institutions would be willing to grant the request.

Sanusi, who is also the Emir of Kano, threw the challenge in his paper entitled: “A plan to restore confidence, direction and growth”, during a policy dialogue organised by an economic think tank, Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development.

The ex-CBN governor argued that for a nation that has five exchange rates, it would be difficult for such request to scale through.

He said since the nation’s foreign exchange lacked credibility, the Federal Government should embrace private sector investments as means of boosting the economy out of recession.

B00hari wants to take huge loans after enriching his kids and grant kids, then he'll die in few years time, leaving us to suffer for the huge loans he will have borrowed and squandered on 2019 reelection.

We will not take it!

As the everyday passes by I just have this feeling that Buhari may not even be aware of what is

happening in the country. Since he's not used to the internet he might not get first class

information and the newspapers supplied to asọ rock might even be doctored to look like all is

well and he'll smile thinking he's working while the cabal run the country to the ground.

Cause this man's silence and nonchalant attitude is sickening. Which kind of President is this?

WHO SAYS?

Depending on what the project will be. If it is for building refineries, they will fall over themselves to loan nigeria the money.

or

issue bonds to raise capital

You'd be surprised. Nigeria has potential and if not for the mess created by past leaders and the current dollardinho, we'll probably be in the first 10 biggest economies in the world.

Exactly what I wanted to say in the other thread. Oil is no longer a precious commodity as world leaders are calling for clean sustainable energy, the country's currency is in shambles and falling freely daily, recession is a reality, no ways of acquiring global wealth such as export, manufacturing, science, or innovation but just consuming, the leaders are notoriously and fantastically known for looting, their is no effective tax system to get back money and if there is, it will still be looted, possibility that the loan will be use to fund upcoming elections, I can go on and on. I won't borrow money with possibility of writing it off in the future. IMF, Word bank is no charity organization.
