In order to make money available to workers and also to help the economy, President Muhammadu has approved the release of N522 billion to the state governments to enable them pay salary and pension arrears.

The President said states receiving the money have been mandated to use 50 percent of the funds to offset salaries and pensions, stressing that the Federal Government “will audit disbursements to ensure compliance.”

According to Mr Buhari, “The Ministry of Finance is currently processing the first batch of N153 billion, which, I am told, will be released to 14 states.”

The President noted that, “The Ministry will provide more details on how the funds will be disbursed and how we will monitor the utilization to ensure that Nigerians receive the full benefits from their state Governors.”

He said he was making efforts to ensure the economy recovers, urging for more supports from the citizens.

“We know what our challenges are and we are working very hard to provide solutions that will last,” Mr Buhari said.

It is thus obvious when you have a leader whose heart is with the common man. He goes beyond his core mandate to satisfy his subjects and not the elitist compliant leader who think first of his cronies.

Again PMB has shown us that a responsive and responsible central government does not necessarily need restructuring of the existing sharing formula to trickle down its presence to the people.

Commendable just like the borrowing to states some months back, but who is always trying to frustrate the effort of the federal government?
Because since most states are on loans and any money into their accounts with commercial banks gets deducted first why is the CBN not crediting the accounts for staff owed arrears and those of pensioners? Is someone in CBN and Finance constantly trying to assist banks recover bad loans by abusing his or her position thereby influencing that money be constantly released in a cover for "salary arrears"?
Afterall CBN accept mandates why is it hard to accept beneficiaries list and where in doubt forward to EFCC for vetting?
Who is making the effort of this government not to have any noticeable effect?

The truth is Buhari cares about Nigeria

Wailers and their pay masters don't give a damp

They are praying that Nigeria should collapse

Under our indifatigeable leader ( Pmb) just for them to

Prove a point.

Wailers are full of hatred without reason

They don't have choice than to live with it

Long live Mr president

has he fulfilled his electoral mandates

If you mean electoral mandate i can say yes that this gesture is one of it. But if you mean to say electoral promises then i will advise you to be more concern about the betterment of Nigerians and Nigeria than electoral manifestos.

Next time learn to figure out the difference between electoral mandate and electoral promises.
