What is this one saying? Semi-ghetto ke? Maybe those lakowe side sha

But awoyaya down to ajah round about got many nice estates.

But ehn that 24 hr traffic from vgc - ajah? Damn! It's unbearable especially in the afternoon
You're right @nice estates. Besides, people also own very nice houses in this area outside the estates. For the traffic, once the reconstruction of those roundabouts are completed and a traffic light introduced (from from what I heard), the problem will be solved to a very large extent. Lekki is over rated.

There seems to be a recent trend of Lagos residents moving from the Lekki area of Lagos Island to the Ajah area and most people are wondering why this is the case. Yes, Lekki seems to be “prettier” than Ajah and it accommodates a certain kind of residents, but frankly, if you are based in Lekki because you want a better quality of life or you think it’s just a better area to inhabit, well, maybe we can make you reconsider. Jumia Travel shares 5 possible reasons Lagosians are now moving from Lekki to Ajah.

The rent in Ajah is not ridiculous

It is no secret that Lekki is a high brow area and so it accommodates some of the most expensive properties in the state. The rent is extremely high and unless you have a blue-collar job, you will be renting forever and struggling to make ends meet. Ajah, although not as cheap as areas on the mainland, offers various options way cheaper and affordable.

Cost of living is bearable

When it comes to cost of living on the island and peninsula area, Ajah is top because of the area’s relatively low cost of living, including consumer prices, utilities and transport costs and, most importantly, house rent. There is easy access to local markets, and people who live there have a better shot at getting some of the things associated with middle-class life.

Power supply

Lekki may seem fabulous, but they regularly battle with an inadequate power supply issue. Ajah on the other hand has better power supply and so, you are not forced to spend a lot of money on fuel or diesel for less electric bill.

Ajah residents are normal people

Unlike the people who reside in the Lekki area, the Ajah residents are unpretentious and down-to-earth and basically the people are easy to get along with. There is no silent competition among the residents as regards affluence or status. People live their lives normally basically.

Ajah is family-friendly

Because of its good-value housing, Ajah has been particularly popular with families. You have access to reasonable mortgage and pretty good schools. Also, restaurants are invariably family-friendly.

Moved from the mainland to Ajah(Thomas Estate) in 2015. Now I'm back on the mainland. Traffic, hell whenever it rains, wall and kitchen was a mess in less than 6 months despite renovating before I moved in and I needed about 250k to plaster and paint the wall, change the kitchen cabinet and rebuild the chamber. Just an overrated area.

Magodo is better as it is more serene and beautiful, unlike Yaba that is more commercialised.

There are residential areas in yaba too but I'd take magodo over yaba too.

Shut up! Even Lekki has a ghetto. Ajah is no ghetto...and Ajah has the highest number of organized estates in Lagos.

This are all lies!
Ajah is very volatile too many communal clasheclashes there.

Traffic alone in ajah can make one violent.

Unless it's ajah of say 15 years ago and not this present ajah.

I love my Ikorodu to die, not that I can afford to buy or build a properties in Lekki. Any time I'm in Nigeria I just love the atmospheres and the vibes in Ikorodu you see different kind of people around good and bad fat and ugly I mean a diversity people that just make my day.

I am tired of living solitary life in the UK. I know there is a lot of Nigeria that lives in London but I'm afraid I do not fancy London life style.
I don't want to come back to Nigeria and be doing exactly same thing. Have only seen my neighbour maybe once in the last 6 months I don't even know who lives 2 doors away.
