Open Letter To The Governor Of Imo State. by MBAISEBLOG: 10:57am On Dec 11, 2016
OPEN LETTER TO THE GOVERNOR OF IMO STATE.
Dear Governor,
With out wasting much of your time and with out beating around the bush, let me go straight to the truth of the matter.
We the board and management of Mbaise BLOG wish to congratulate you for your good works so far and your efforts towards the development of Imo State . To us you are the best infrastructural Governor in the south eastern part of Nigeria. But the truth must be told.
Recently there was a press release from your office that, the Imo state government will pay civil servants 2months salary ahead of the Christmas celebration.
But we wish to leave you with the quote from Jill Johnston which says that, Christmas is a time we spend money we don't have on things we don't need to impress people we don't like. and also with this quotation from Hilaire Belloc "Buying what you don't need leads to needing what you can't buy".
Currently the economy of our country is in recession, which laid and pushed you into trying to sack most of the Imo State workers, More especially those in the health sector and the staff of some law courts were not paid their salaries, if not for the intervention of NLC and TUC ,that made you to accept them back and in other to carry everyone along you now started paying them anything you wish and feel like, some times you will pay them 50% or 70% depending on what you feel to.
We humbly wish to suggest as concerned citizens that strongly believe in the existence of Democracy in our great country Nigeria, that You should remove any plan to waste millions of Naira in building Xmas tree this year and minimize the expenses of this years Xmas decorations, just as we have started seeing some around Concord road Owerri, a decoration that does not bring in income to the state. I want you to also remember that there is no rich man whose expenditure is greater than his income.
We think you should start saving now and start thinking of how to pay pensioners and works their salaries by Jan and Feb next year. We should start thinking of a way to create lasting jobs for the youths and not the kind of job you gave to some teachers that you pay the less than 20000 this days and for the past 3years you have not given them any appointment letter.
We should start constructing our major roads and not grading them, which is not going to survive the raining season next year.
I believe if all these things are been done the way the are suppose to be, Imo State will be better the way you dream it to be. We see a leader with vision in you, but can't tell what the problem is. We see a leader with good plans for Imolites.
Before we forget sir, If you can complete the 27general hospital you are building in the 27local govt areas, and also complete the school building, construct the major roads in imo state, rehabilitate those in the rural areas and maintain your free education policy, no Governor in the history of Imo will forget you, your name will never be forgotten just like St Paul of the holy Bible.
Remember that the true evidence of good leadership is when the people are healthy and happy.. If you pay workers they will go to the market to buy goods and there will be good money in circulation, and the masses will be happy.
My Governor, My Governor.
