HarryKevin35: Ahmmm... I looked at the scholarship history while i was applying.. At a time it was released in mid November.. But most time it's in december.. But i think its the embassy also decides when they will start/stop accepting applications... Because the anouncement of the scholarship in respective countries is also made by the embassy after ICCR announces it.. ICCR has their own application submission deadline but so also does the embassy.. The embassy does this so that they can have time to process/ verify the submitted application before forwarding the selected ones... The embassy also does some pre-selection ..Criteria upon which this is done "i'm uncertain" but basically i think its about comparing the academic qualifications of the applicants and verification of other required documents.. of the applicants.. After this selected applicants will be scheduled for interviews.. After this will the applications be sent to the ICCR.. However, ICCR doesn't guarantee your admission into your selected institution. On this note your academic qualification should match the institution you are applying into... Because the institution has to admit you first based on their criteria for admission before ICCR gives a scholarship grant to such candidate.. So make your research well on the available institutions in the ICCR's list of partnering colleges n universities( basically the public unis n colleges) vs their acceptance rate and see if your grade point stand a chance.. Although there is also a checkbox in the application form that ask you if you want iccr to forward your application to other institution perhaps your institution of choice fails to admit you... But i think its better to do your findings earlier.... Also.. I think post-graduate students to undergraduate student selection ratio favours the PG applicants.... at least the Nigeria selection ratio (over time) has shown that.. Documents that may be required of you: **Academic results and Transcripts **Academic syllabus **Medical Fitness certificate **Some Medical test results **International Passport |

kayoph:I have few questions: Firstly, regarding the conversation of result to percentage, how does one go about that ? For bachelors degree holder and O' level. Secondly, as a bachelors degree holder, is one expected to provide the o'level syllabus too? Lastly, what's the criterion for selection? |
Re: 2017/2018 Indian Government (ICCR) Scholarship For 900 African Students by Nobody: 7:12pm On Sep 14, 2017 |
rayxvine: Ahmmm.. On the syllabus thing, i can't say o..Hence..am not specifying any method . However when i applied i actually submitted the WAEC syllabus along side other document.. But!.. But!!..But!!.. During the interview a comment was passed on my application about it being bulky in a specific tone... one of the other persons that was also selected for UG i don't think he submitted that.. Maybe it played part.. Maybe not... I did that to fulfill the righteousness of that part in the list of required documents... The other guy didn't and yet got selected.. 1 Like |

kkc1: On O'level syllabus for PG applicants.. i don't think its required.. But that of the Bachelors degree is, because i can recall that some masters applicant were with theirs when we went for the interview.. About conversion of result to %.. for my O'level: i went to the WASSCE site and checked the percentile for my grades.. added them together and i found the average... so i used the average %... Concerning that of the Bachelors degree grade point conversion.. some couples of ways were posted on the forum but i think the CGPA/perfect grade point * 100 should do that.. The criteria for selection is best known to your University of choice.. Because Your application is forwarded to your school of choice... Its upon your admission that ICCR gives the scholarship grant... ABout the pre-selection exercise done by the embassy.. Basically i think its about comparing the academic result of the applicant and the completeness of other required documents... 1 Like |

kingramonkhan: I do know that any documents with a different language to be used for official purpose needs a certified translation to the conventional lingo of the concerned organization and there are companies offering that service in Lagos n Abuja.. Maybe some other places too.. Just check that out... I your documents aren't in English get a certified translation. Marksheet refers to your transcript... For O'level, The grading system written at the back of the Certificate serves that purpose... for higher Certificates, a transcript from your school/department is required. |

rayxvine: TOEFL or any other TLS is not compulsory however if you have them you may submit it along with your documents. One of the reasons for the interview is to check your ability to converse in English.. So not submitting a TLS result won't do you bad Concerning your school of choice.. I think they are okay.. Just do well to check these school.. and see that your grade fits in for their admission... |
