Justification for spending; ''whilst Church universities aren’t exactly transparent about expenditure and revenue, let us attempt to forecast their spending using Covenant university as a case study.The typical CU campus would consist of 7000 undergraduates paying an average of N600,000.00 yearly which would amount to N3,600,000,000.00.

The university offers the students numerous services, which includes 24 hours of electricity, campus housing, learning device (Samsung Tablet), 10GB of internet data monthly per student, medical coverage, books for each level.
Already these services and products gulp billions of the tuition paid by students. Also at the academic level, my department , Microbiology, for example consist of averagely 25 students at each level(25 students x 4 levels=100 students in the entire department), With about 15 core Microbiology lecturers servicing the four levels for core Microbiology courses and an estimated 35 lecturers coming from Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry and other NUC courses to lecture us elective/borrowed/general. Also about 5 lab technicians(MSc holders) servicing the Microbiology lab

I don’t know about Covenant University but a professor in Landmark university would take home about N700,000.00, Doctors would get 500,000.00 monthly, Graduate assistant would take about N150-200,000.00. The entire work force is rumoured to be above 1000. Also remember that the workers receive salaries on a monthly basis. Finally, research grants must also be offered to Lecturers amongst other important spendings e.g inaugural lectures, seminars, conferences e.t.c''
