Gamers and football fans can expect a raft of new features from the new release


Football Manager 2017 is here- and addicted gamers are gearing up for many a lost evening playing the simulation favourite.

Aston Villa, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion fans will be looking to spearhead their club to glory after the game drops on November 4.

The game's makers Sports Interactive have announced a whole host of new features for this year's version, which include a social media feed, customised manager avatar and enhanced match graphics.




Football Manager supremo Miles Jacobson released a video last month detailing a comprehensive rundown of the game's new features.


But what can we expect?

New camera angle
The behind goal low camera angle gets you up-close and personal to all the goalmouth action.

You can see the trajectory of the ball as it flies into the back of the net, and get a good view of how your team is maintaining its shape.

1500 new motion-captured elements

Goalkeepers are now capable of pulling off spectacular saves, and players head and shoot in a much more intuitive manner, taking into account the flight of the ball better than ever before.

Magic spray

Whenever there is a free-kick in a dangerous position, the referee will mark out where the ball - and wall - must be placed. Just like across all of Europe's most prevalent leagues.

Pre-match presentation


Players will emerge from the tunnel and line up for the pre-match handshakes before going through their final warm-ups before kick-off.

Law changes implemented

The new kick-off, where one player can start the game by himself, is one of a host of rule changes which have been implemented for FM17.

A player injured by a carded offence can be treated on the pitch, and a foul by the last man denying a goalscoring opportunity will not bring an automatic red card.

AI enhancements


Artificial intelligence enhancements include the number of decisions a player makes per second almost doubling.

Players are more aware of the situation they are in which leads to more split-second decisions, particularly in goal-scoring opportunities.
