The biggest power broker in Nigeria politics is always the sitting president, he alone knows who is going to succeed him. All power is concentrated in the hand of the president:

there is no law, except the law of the president
there is no justice, except the justice of the president
there is no way except, the way of the president

In Nigeria the president is the alpha and omega, the so called power brokers are just players that could be liquidated if the president desire. Nobody ever move against the president without coming out with a big bruise.
