Paul clarified that while writing Timothy on how Christianity should be run.

It simply says to hold Christian office you must have one wife meaning lots of the early Christians with Timothy had more than one wife!

Our forefathers in Ekiti were devout Christians and predominantly farmers. They'd never take a yes for a no, and vice versa. They were nice, kind-hearted and loving. They were not covetous about anything. Their wives were caring and not arrogant. They would be on their kneels whenever they served them husband pounded yam. Many even died at a very old age and their children were highly placed , many of whom were professors of various disciplines . The reverse is the case these days. A man will marry a wife and the wife will make life miserably for him, especially once she knows she's the only one. You see a man of 35 years old looking 10 years older, due to the stress faced at home and as a Christian, you must not divorce her because our faith frowns at it. HBP case (caused by wives) amongst our men nowadays is worrisome. All these were never a commonplace in the olden days. Women would respect their husbands and even call them, 'my lord'. Reverse is the case nowadays. Before a man would say A, the wife has said A,B and C. Could this be our exposure to the westlife or education?... because many don't seem to live by the instructions laid down in the bible to be followed as a wife....just asking.

Marriage is between two (not 3 or more) who would become one till death separates them. What do we call the second wife?

The highlighted also applies to the man, he shall be an adulterer if he marries another while his wife is still alive.

And adultery is:
