What's the distance between those places?
Re: 1999 Toyota Camry by amedualiyu(m): 10:32pm On Jan 08, 2017
Like 95km
Re: 1999 Toyota Camry by Nobody: 1:31pm On Jan 09, 2017
I'm assuming 95 km is the total distance to and fro. This is approximately 59. 03 miles.

1 gallon is approximately 4 litres, so the 15 litres you use is approximately 3. 75 gallons.

Dividing the total distance by the fuel used gives approximately 15.7 mpg.

Rated economy for 4 cylinder is 20, 28 mpg for city, highway driving while 6 cylinder is 17, 25 mpg respectively.

How many cylinders does your engine have?

Since 95 km is approximately 59. 03 miles.
Litres of fuel used is 15 Litres
1 Gallon is approximately 4.5 Litres using Imperial Gallon
After computation u have the following:

Fuel Consumption: 17.97 Km Miles per Gallon
Per 100km: 15.72 Litres
Per 1km: 6.36 Litres

From the readings, it seems ur car is on the high side.

1mile = 1.6km
1 gallon = 3.78 liters
So your fuel consumption is like 14.96mpg. Approx 15mpg.
For a V6 its good but an i4 with d worst traffic situation can give such outrageous mpg

Thanks All,

Any good Engineer that can be recommended within Lagos?

I have used two already but no solution

Be advised that a perfect car can have relatively 'poor' fuel economy if you accelerate hard when driving or if you have to slow down and speed up several times due to bad roads.

My personal favourite is GAZZUZZ.

Thanks a lot @ Mementoes.

I normally spend 1hr in the morning without traffic going to office but 2hrs in the evening going home with traffic. What do you think?

You are welcome. You have not answered the question on the number of cylinders your engine has. It will help me to give an appropriate response.

personally, I don't believe from ikorodu to lekki and back is up to 95km. I think you got your calculations wrong.

Lagos to Ibadan is 110km. think about it. mile 2 to lekki and back is abt 45-48km.

When you get the right distance in kms, then you wil find out your car's true fuel mileage
Re: 1999 Toyota Camry by amedualiyu(m): 1:47pm On Jan 11, 2017
4 cylinders
Re: 1999 Toyota Camry by Nobody: 2:35pm On Jan 11, 2017
This means that your fuel consumption is a little high. I guess your check light is on? You can start by scanning the car, ensuring that you use the right tyre size, oil grade and performing a general tune-up.
