Its an investment and they wont let him go untill they have milked their money plus enough profit. How is Tekno going to do that when his major market is in Africa? Here is how it works, Sony signs Tekno right? It is like an investment, when u invest in something u expect returns. Tekno will have to work very very hard to make sure he makes returns to his investors (Sony). Sony will push him, squeeze him, decide which song he will release and when to release it, they practically own him now. Dont call them mean, they are business people and business is supposed to bring in profit.

The thing is, Ubi and Okeye will collect their share of that money Sony used to sign Tekno, Ubi can take as much as 40% as manager fee, Okeye will collect and some underground people will collect. How much will now be left for Tekno? Still he will be the one to work the work, see how messed up the situation is?

Most artist collect $1M, because it will be easier to pay back and tarminate the contract, they sign to Sony so that it will give them a wider audience and not neccesairily for the money..
