Cyprus is an island country, situated in the northern corner of the Mediterranean, at what is known as the meeting point of Europe, Asia and Africa, its surrounding countries are Turkey to the north, Greece to the northwest, Lebanon and Syria to the East, Israel and Palestine to the southeast and Egypt to the south. Cyprus is divided into two parts; the Northern Cyprus inhabited by Turkish Cypriots, known as The Republic of Northern Cyprus which illegally declared independence from the southern Cyprus and the Southern Cyprus inhabited by Greek Cypriots. The largest cities in Cyprus are Nicosia (which is the capital city), Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca, Famagusta and Kyrenia. The official languages of Cyprus are Greek and Turkish. There are also minority languages which includes Armenian and Cypriot Arabic.
Until recently Cyprus has been amongst the choice education destinations in the world mainly because of its provision of quality education at relatively cheap rates and low living costs when compared to other education hotspots like the United States, UK, Canada, Australia and some other European countries.
The country is very peaceful with warm and inviting locals and warm weather, crime rate is almost non-existent, it has many beaches and tourist attraction sites from archeological sites dating from the New Stone Age to the Roman Empire to restaurants built inside the old city to great mountain scenery. There are also lots of activities to be enjoyed while studying Cyprus from snorkeling to jet skiing to dining to numerous traditional dishes at numerous local and international restaurants because of its location the dishes of the locals have been greatly influenced by the many regions bordering it, the North (South Eastern Europe), East (Western Asia), South (Northern Africa), West (Mediterranean) resulting in mouthwatering pasta dishes made of dough and raw and cooked vegetables and meat kebabs and delightful desserts.
