The House of Representatives yesterday rejected the Federal Government’s exchange rate of N305/dollar in this year’s budget, saying it would engender huge corruption, with the almost N500/dollar at the parallel market. http://thenationonlineng.net/reps-reject-n305dollar-exchange-rate-budget/ 2 Likes |

Whatever you do just try to kick us out of recession.. The National Assembly should also try to reduce the feeding allowances for the president, vice president and the presidency because I'm quite sure that money can feed the smallest state in Nigeria in terms of population Good morning this morning Nigerians Good morning this morning Nairalanders May God make this day fruitful for all of us 17 Likes |

Why won't it lead to corruption? Soon, the black market rate will be double of the official rate. We seriously need divine intervention in this country. Prices of goods are becoming outrageous. 1 Like |

ARBITRAGE NATION ARBITRAGE LEADERS TO CBN, Why not peg the exchange rate close to the black market rate and give banks authority to sell to customers at a reduced rate, so as to drive the ABBOOOKKIIS who are influencing the black market rate...drive them out of business, Then with time, regain control over the currency as you are in charge of regulating the banks The current way is just to encourage massive arbitraging...if banks can sell at $305, top bankers who have access to broker these fx deals will buy from the bank at $305 with their money and sell to the public at $400...CREATING MORE PROBLEMS 7 Likes 1 Share |

Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun said the government had put a lot of measures in place to stimulate the economy. She said people should be careful about putting their faith in the black market as it drives inflation. “There is a number of structural initiative to close the gap. We have to look at why are people buying dollars at such high amounts. It’s driven by irrational and emotional factors.” Kemi should go back to university 6 Likes |

OK now what rate should Buhari use? I Skimmed through and I realized something, these people aren't fighting for the masses, they are fighting for themselves. They are the ones with access to CBN, they are the ones who get paid in $$ if dollar value is converted into the economy it remains at naira value , govt spends less dollars means more dollars for commercial purpises What they won't tell you though is that it's thier greed killing them It's a win win for them If it's 305 they win, if it's 500 they win, I'm no expert but if there are economists in the house please let's hear your opinion And anybody wants to quote, use sense don't quote all the writeup |

Corruption is fighting back in many ways. Buhari claim to be fighting corruption, and exchange rate differs in various parastatals and sectors of the country. |
