What's Hanukkah
Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights is an eight-day Jewish Festival marking the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem in 165 BC after its desecration and the defeat of the Syrians and Greeks who ruled Israel by the Jewish Maccabees.
Hanukkah also commemorates the 'Miracle of the oil container' that happened after the Temple was destroyed . It starts on the 25th day of Kislev in the Jewish Calendar, which happens to be 12th December this year in the Gregorian Calendar.

Hanukkah is described in the Jewish Talmud and in the Deuterocanonical books of Maccabees.
Check 1 and 2 Maccabees. So go get a Talmud or a Bible with the Apocrypha and go discover your Jewish roots.
