The Least Developed Countries And The Developing Countries!!! by Veritasafrique: 11:15pm On Jan 20, 2017
Reading the article of Dr Mukhisa Kituyi, ‘Democracy delivered by economic inclusion’ in the New African, January 2017, no.568, one sees that out of the 54 countries of Africa, 34 are classified as the Least Developed Countries. Most likely the other twenty countries are among the Developing Countries. It implies that in Africa, there is no developed country. If one turns over the page of the same magazine to the next two article “Lumumba, Hammmarskjold and the Cold War in the Congo” by Henning Melber, and “Congolese Uranium and the Cold War” by Susan Williams, it becomes clear that the classification of these African countries as Least Developed Countries and Developing Countries are just man-made. Seeing the situation in Congo for instance, one may be forced to ask - Who or what made these countries Least Developed? Why are they Least Developed? Who are those stealing the natural wealth in Congo from the day of colonialism till today? Why were Patrice Mulumba and senior Kabila assassinated?
In one of our publications, we made it clear that until Africans ask why, we shall remain in this man-made horror in which they have programmed us to be. If we are lazy and we do not want to face the reality before us, we shall be slaves forever. We shall be eating from what falls from the table. They will come to us and steal all we have and they will call us Least Developed. Many African countries, many years after the so-called independence are still developing countries and Least Developed Countries. Many African intellectuals close their eyes and are waiting for manna from above. Certainly, no manna will fall. In the world of today, nobody gives you what belongs to you if you do not claim it. Africans awake from your slumber!!! Nobody will save Africa if not Africans themselves. Let us come together and discuss our freedom. Let nobody say it does not concern him or her. This is a forum for our debate for freedom. God bless Africa!!!
