Egba Muslims eulogise Bankole

The Muslim community in Egbaland has commended Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dimeji Sabur Bankole, for representing and promoting the good name of Egba people through his meritorious and satisfactory work in the National Assembly.

Speaking at the tradition Sallah homage to Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo, after praying at Lantoro, Alhaji Lateef Adegbite, the Seriki of Egbaland and the Secretary General of the Supreme Council on Islamic Affairs, said this is the first time an Egba Muslim, in the person Bankole, is at the highest echelon of government in Nigeria, adding that previously Egba Christians has produced head of state, president and head of Interim Government of Nigeria.

A press statement by Chief Kayode Odunaro, special adviser (communication) to the Speaker, quoted Adegbite as saying that Bankole has shown that, with faith in Allah, everything is possible, as not only is an Egba Muslim the Speaker of Nigeria but he also is making changes for the better in the way things are done at that level of government.

The Seriki of Egbaland said the sterling qualities and achievements of Bankole reflect his pedigree and educational attainments, stressing that all Muslims parents should endeavour to give their children good education for a better future.

Also speaking, the Alake said that he is reserving a title for Bankole, who had respectfully declined any title or award until he relinquishes his official position as Speaker, regretting, however, that the title may have to wait a little longer as Bankole is destined for more years is office and in higher position.
The royal father said Bankole has not disappointed his family, Egbaland, Ogun State and Nigeria as he has discharged his duties creditably to the best of his ability.

The speaker had earlier joined the Eid prayer at Lantoro and proceeded to Ake Palace for the traditional homage. Among dignitaries present on the occasion were Alhaji Sharafa Ishola, former minister of Mines and steel, Chief Mrs. Edionsere, aka Cash Madam, Chief Ade Adegboye, the Oluwo of Egbaland, among others

Are there not many Nigerians that are well educated than Mr. Bankole? Nigeria politics is not determine by the level  of ones education but throu connections. Know me and know you.
