Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom state has been blasted by some Nigerians after greeting a First class ruler in the manner. The governor was pictured in a handshake with the Paramount Ruler of his Local Government Area(Onna) while putting one of his hands in his pocket.

Some Akwa Ibomites and others have reacted angrily to what they describe as a disrespectful way of greeting a reputable figure.

Nigerians can complain. He did this, He did not do this, He is doing this, most of this people complaining don't even respect their parents and their elders

Pls who ever is posting this should know that in akwa ibom culture that greeting posture is ok even the grandson of the king can still greet the king that way

His he not the one paying the Kings. Monarchy in Nigeria has no significance except for a few and honestly I owe no allegiance to any of them, whether the one from my village or your own village. For greeting an elderly man like that, people from that zone might not have any issue with his body posture but it might be sacrilegious to some from the other side of Naija.

Truth be told, this is completely disrespectful and says a lot about his terribly poor upbringing by his parents. If he can greet his traditional ruler so disrespectful like this, he just disgraced his father and mother for not teaching him about humility.
What!!!! Even if he doesn't respect the oldman's grey hair,what about the fact that he represents the history and ancestry of his own community.I grew up hearing songs and watching films where you are repeatedly warned never to greet a king standing upright. O ga o!!
