Pregnancy, also known as gravidity or gestation, is the time during which one or more offspring develops inside a woman. It usually lasts around 40 weeks from the last menstrual period(LMP) and ends in childbirth.
Not many people experience growing a human inside of our own body and this leave in suspense of what happens there.

Apart from those known facts about pregnancy like growing tummy, there are other weird but normal facts associated with it.

Checkout these 25 facts about pregnancy that you may not have known.

1. Once a woman is about four months pregnant, your baby begins to urinate inside of you and the wierd fact is that they are likely to drink it.

2.A woman's uterus originally the size of a pea stretches to the size of a watermelon - that's about 500 times its original size!

3. Most women experience swelling in their feet during pregnancy. Because of water weight and other extra fluid, your feet can grow up to one full shoe size

4. A baby has all of his or her fingerprints by 9-12 weeks in the womb!

5. Babies have been said to be doing a number of things while inside the womb like sucking their thumbs and holding hands, masturbating.

6. If you are tall or overweight, you have a greater chance of carrying multiples.

7. The longest pregnancyon record was 375 days.

8. Nine in 10 women experience a change in skin tone during pregnancy.

9.The heart actually grows during pregnancy, It works harder and pumps more blood for that growing baby!

10. Babies usually cry in the womb but because of all of the fluid, you can't hear them.

16. Pregnant women are more prone to broken bones because of a hormone called relaxin. The hormone allows your joints to soften so that your hips and pelvis can open up for birth.

17. In the uterus, baby girls develop all of the reproductive eggs they will ever use. Baby boys don't develop sperm until puberty.

18. Pregnant women have less oxygen in their blood, which is what causes "pregnancy brain," or forgetfulness.

19. Pregnant women have what's called a mucous plug.It is at the opening of the cervix and serves to prevent bacteria from reaching the womb. It will pass as your body gets ready for labor.

20. Once pregnant, your body develops an organ called the placenta. Humans are the only mammals to not routinely ingest their placenta after birth.

21. In uterus, babies develop a waxy, cream cheese-like coating called vernix. Many babies are born with vernix residue.

22. One in 3 women give birth via Cesarean section. This number has tripled in the last 10 years!

23. Babies in utero develop hair all over their bodies called lanugo.They usually shed this hair before they are borned.

24. It is true that women who suffer from heartburn during pregnancy are more likely to have babies born with lots of hair.

25. One in every 2000 babies is born with teeth. Most of the time, they have to be pulled shortly after birth.
