I still cannot fathom why the national assembly hasn't put death penalty in place as punishment for kidnapping. This menace has gone on for too long to ignore. Its already an epidemic and will only get worse.

You're right. One must apply discretion and caution in Nigeria of today.
It's likely this is targeted because it's mentioned the boy just came back from schooling abroad.

Where will a student get 300k even if he was doing night school and working on Wall Street.

This is just unfair to him and his family, and wicked of the kidnappers and every other kidnapper.

Exactly

Insecurity all over Nigeria, evidence of a failed state, sighs, when will they start kidnapping state governors, Federal Ministers, Ex Governors, Presidents, National assembly members, billionaires, subsidy thieves, Police commissioners, both serving and retired, looters and every pot -belly politicians who stole billions meant for the security and welfare of the masses, they should release these young people jare and focus on the big criminals who have grounded the glory of Nigeria as a nation, nonsense angry angry sad

The sad truth is that we have even gone past this as it has already been happening for a while. Remember high profile victims of kidnapping in recent times like; madam Okonjo Iweala's mother, chief Olu Falaye himself, ex-commissoner lady of Ogun state, many royal fathers across the land, judges, MD/CEOs, political aspirants, bankers, doctors, ex this and ex that!!!

You know that a country is failing from the moment when its security apparatchik no longer have monopoly of violence. Sad.

Nigeria should just put a "death penalty" law for kidnappers.

Where are the "say no to jungle justice crew?"
What of looters?

This is the literal meaning of the poor eating the rich

No. This is pure criminality. Where did the poor get a jeep to block the car of the rich?

Update on the missing Abuja three, guys. It has been confirmed that Veronica Otogo, Bisola Mohammed, Damilola Oribuyaku were abducted. And their abductors are asking for $300,000 - N150million ransom.

A relation shared this on Facebook yesterday:

Join Our Prayers for the Safety of Damilola
Engr. Oribuyaku is a family friend. His son, Damilola who just returned from schooling abroad went to have ice-cream at Coldstone, Wuse II Abuja on Friday with two of his female friends. As they were about to get into their cars, a jeep blocked them. The rest was like like a horror film. They were taken and driven off. The abductors are demanding for $300,000.

Engr. Oribuyaku is a hardworking man who has built his businesses with clean money.
He doesn't have that kind of money.

Please, join us in praying for the safety of these young people in the hands of these criminals. May God let us find them alive and in one piece.

N.B: One of our brothers was hit on the head with the butt of a gun in front of this same ice-cream parlour at Gwarimpa last year. Criminals now target places frequently visited by the middle class. Let us be security conscious as Nigeria is going throug a very hard period. May God save us all from evil, ameen.

The family members and friends are always the usual suspects.
