Senator Gbenga Ogunniya, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) representative for the Ondo Central senatorial district,  was arrested this morning in Oka-Akoko area of Ondo State for snatching ballot boxes in the House of Rrepresentatives bye-election for the Akoko South-East/South-West Federal Constituency.

He was caught while snatching ballot boxes at Ward 4, unit 9 in Agba community. Taking advantage of his position as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, the controversial “Third Term” senator  arrived in the area early today accompanied by two patrol vehicles loaded with mobile policemen and began engaging in election malpractices in the company of one Elegbeleye. Ogunniya is currently in police custody at Oka Police Station.

@Onyengbu, to answer your question on the other locked soludo thread, not all of Nigeria has to call for an investigation before one is carried out. Like I mentioned, it ought to be part of our normal process, especially for the fact that we know that CORRUPTION is a SERIOUS PROBLEM in our society that needs to be dealt with at all levels. And not until we develop a culture of INVESTIGATING to CLEAR those who neeed to be cleared, and prosecuting thos who need to be prosecuted will we move forward. This applies to people of ALL TRIBES, NO EXCLUSIONS!!

Nigeria is doomed. Shouldn't this senator resign before dusk tomorrow?.

Excuse me, the senator  is not senseless and silly, he is only a criminal. If you can prove he is senseless and silly, then you are giving him an opportunity to beat the rap through a clever lawyer. How can you throw him in jail when he is the lawmaker?. Juju the catch the babalawo wey make am?
