Does Banks Setting More Of Mathematics Test Questions Guarantee Fair Chance? by Senipapa(m): 9:37am On Feb 13, 2017
It's no news that our no 1 financial institution (bank) drill their applicants on more mathematic and maybe few English, and on most occasion equal both subject questions. Mathematics being a very important and delicate subject has never taken away the fact that a higher proportion of students who sit for this subject make lesser grade than the average mark per sitting. This is why most people when making a choice of their course of study into the University go for mathematical unrelated courses, with many with passion of working in a business sector heading into management sciences which has lesser to do with mathematics apart from maybe accounting course.

Bank job is more of an interactive job, so what's the mathematics test for, knowing all the mathematics in this world doesn't make one a good marketer where as someone with good communication skills can excel in marketing without a common knowledge of mathematics, same goes to customers service unit, and same with those in the deposit and withdrawal counter. Why not set test in the English, current affairs and IQ question and maybe few maths, rather than chasing away many with better knowledge on how to help your establishment grow and giving a few a big advantage over others because we all know that those who do well in maths stand better chance, abi banking and finance don turn science course? Criticism is welcomed , learning is a process and I may be wrong so fellow Nlanders let's here your opinions on this.
