And someone tells me it was only groundnut pyramids and cocoa that was used in building Nigeria.

Colonial records clearly indicate that Palm Oil and Rubber, both products of the Niger Delta and East were the top earners for decades.

The nation continues to be dependent on the Niger Delta region 100 years later

Globalisation has destroyed Nigeria

This is the silliest thing i've heard in Ages.

Such complaints should be made by tiny or resource-less countries.

I once ask my dad how come his dad has only one land and house in Edo state. And has about 650 land situated at udo close to Okomu, Nifor axis, and in Uhuonde local government area, of Edo state, and some was even lost and forgotten. He said his dad was into the production of Palm fruit and oil processing. In my thought what a waste of time and energy. Never knew it was once a major export commodity back in the days. With this current exchange rate and going back to the it was in the 70s and 90s I now understand the reason why buying more than one plot of land in the urban area was a complete waste of money and resources. PALM FRIUT(OIL) was the real deal.

Oil from the Niger Delta is a curse.

Before the discovery of crude oil, Other regions were feeding the Niger Delta and now they want to die.

Thank God oil is no longer selling, we will see what will befall them later.

Niger Delta is one of the largest producer of Palm oil in Nigeria

This era is past, and in the far future we can never attain this feat. Countries who envied us came and took just a mere sample and today exquisite palm nut species are been demanded from those countries. Nigeria is a failed state and until we see it as that we can neva prosper.

You goofed.
Oil palm refers to the plant.
Palm oil refers to the produce.

Rightly said.. thought it was the tree being exported like they did to Malaysia some years ago!

You lack any sort of critical thought. You'd better consult Nigeria's trade history starting from The Royal Niger charter in 1886.

Keep the Niger Delta out of your delirium, you piece of pathetic filth.

Everybody now wants crude oil money. Malaysia that came to buy palm fruits from us are now the world number one exporter of palm oil. Leaders of this great country past and present have never place their priority right.

what do you mean processing?
Palm oil ready to be shipped, is there any other form you eat palm oil other than when it has been processed from palm fruit to palm oil.
All these township boys and girls.

He means using the palm oil to make other products and then exporting the products.

The value added at this stage is the game changer.

I am not for pdp/apc but for a purposeful and responsible leadership

Globalisation has destroyed Nigeria

The FG should call other African countries to a meeting and insist on global right-pricing of our commodities. This is where the Western world is cheating Nigeria and they will continue to encourage clueless people like Jonathan, Mahama, Kabila and Sirleaf in Government to pepetrate the rape of the continent.

And where do you think the oil palm was tapped?

The very same Niger Delta (and the East) that you talking mess about.

If you really want to talk about people killing themselves then you have to look to the North with their malnutrition and polio.
