Homemade Lamborghini: A gift from grandpa

Guo Liangyuan created electric cars for his grandchildren, to transport them to school and take them back home.

The cars, which are similar in shape to Lamborghinis, can reach speeds of 40 kilometers per hour.

Guo decided to make the cars because his little grandchildren could easily fall off from the back of his motorbike. After an accident, Guo began his car-making project.

But is driving these cars on the road allowed? The Police Department in Zhengzhou, the capital city of central China’s Henan Province, indicated that homemade vehicles should not be used as normal cars.

The cost of each car is about 5,000 yuan (725 US dollars) and each has enough battery storage to drive for around 60 kilometers.

Guo has been keen on engineering since he was a child, even if he was only at school until year three in primary school.

The car is well equipped, with an audio system, horn and trademark Lamborghini “scissor door.”
