napoleon77: It seems you did not get the point. I really don't know what you mean by bush meat.? If you mean grasscutters, guinea fowl, rabbits etc, they are animals that can be reared and are in fact are in large numbers compared to the likes of Hippo's. Check your facts well, there is an international treaty on hunting of whales.(So the numbers and type the japanse hunt are actually limited). |
Re: Hippopotamus Caught In Kebbi Waters, Butchered (Photos) by napoleon77(m): 5:33pm On Feb 25, 2017 |
pokipoki: Ok. Check your facts and tell me if there is an international or even a local law against killing hippopotamus to feed in Kebbi State. And I can argue that the Norwegians and Japanese still kill whales for food so it's not fair to criticise people in Kebbi who killed a hippopotamus for food. My point remains that wild life is still being killed for fun and entertainment by people in the Western world but we criticise Africans who killed wild life for food. It doesn't seem fair. Or does it? |

pokipoki: At no point in our brief discourse have I given the impression that I support the indiscriminate killing of animals. My argument has always been that there is nothing wrong with killing an animal for food legally. And it is unfair if wild life could be killed for fun and entertainment by some sets of people but we then criticise other people who kill wild life for food. The Japanese and Norwegians see nothing wrong in killing whales for food but some people in the west object. Nigerians see nothing wrong with eating cow leg, shaki etc but some people in the west object. |

The men in Black will soon infest remote villages in Nigeria with some experimental virus and when a pandemic of unknown exotic disease sweeps throughout Nigeria all these images of supposed Nigerians consuming anything that moves will be used as evidence to back up the false claim that the consumption of bush meat is cause. |

This is the problem we have in our country. That Hippo should have been sold to Wildlifes in Jos or Bauchi. This is really sad. The whites would never do this. Tourism generates alot of revenue. I was in the Jos Wild life Park two weeks ago and i saw lots of monkeys not caged moving freely... This monkeys have made the man-made park their habitat. They were really Beautiful. |

napoleon77:Nigerians eat cattle. There is no justification for killing the hippo. It's a rare find. |
Re: Hippopotamus Caught In Kebbi Waters, Butchered (Photos) by napoleon77(m): 12:18pm On Feb 26, 2017 |
Realbennysnipes: Is there a justification for killing lions, buffaloes etc? Is killing a hippopotamus for food illegal? Nigerians eat cattle. Fine. But the story also shows that some Nigerians eat hippopotamus. Is that illegal? Hippopotamus are not rare. There are just not as popular as cattle
