JARUSHUB:Can a typical Nigerian employer reason this way? I have a friend who lectures in a Federal University. The funny thing about his office I wouldn't forget is that apart from students project work and SIWES report properly arranged on a shelve, the office is practically empty, no access to wireless internet service, no official computer ( he patronizes business centers) in fact he had to take his personal standing fan from home there because the celling fan provided by the institution is faulty. And to crown it all, the faculty doesn't have a reliable standby generating set. Most Nigerian employers feel that as long as you're being paid for your services, any other personal development should come from you. I've seen employee's use their personal money to put their offices in order so as to have a relaxed mind and meet up to their employer's expectations. Its really sad. 4 Likes |
