Fasehun On Osinbajo, Buhari, Customs Charges, Etc by JKisOK(m): 1:00am On Mar 14, 2017
On Monday, a Press Conference was held by Dr. Frederick Fasehun, Founder and President of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) and National Chairman of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN), in Lagos.
ON OSINBAJO
He said: “We must confess that the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has brought a new atmosphere of faith and confidence in the Nigeria project. Unlike a few months back when people like Reverend Matthew Hassan-Kukah expressed palpable fear about the future of Nigeria, Professor Osinbajo, in his short time of being in charge, has rekindled faith in this country. Through his hands-on approach to governance and indiscriminate dialogue with people in their natural environments, Osinbajo has shown that this regime can build a united nation where no man feels oppressed because of ethnic or political differences.
ON CUSTOMS VERSUS SENATE
Why should the end-user be the one to pay for Customs’ dereliction of duty at the border posts? Are we not in danger of waking up one day to find Customs’ officers invading people’s homes to demand import papers for furniture, electronic appliances and clothing items? We urge The Presidency and the Minister of Internal Affairs to immediately compel the Comptroller-General to obey the Senate’s order. Colonel Hameed Alli must obey the Senate.
ON NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Adopting the resolutions of that Confab will stop the country’s drift from crisis to crisis and we urge the Federal Government to take urgent steps to facilitate their implementation.
Other highlights:
1. Nigerians are still expecting the Buhari-Osinbajo government to deliver on campaign promises, including:
2. Banning government officials from seeking medical attention abroad
3. Improving the value of the naira and making a dollar equal to one naira
4. Rescuing the Chibok girls
5. Ending Boko Haram and curbing insecurity
6. Improving power supply
7. Paying 23 million Nigerians N5,000 monthly
8. Paying post-NYSC youths a stipend
9. Honouring the rule of law
10. Ending corruption
11. Feeding primary school pupils
12. Reducing fuel price to N45 per litre
13. Reviving all the refineries in the first year in office, while building more for domestic consumption.

During the campaigns the promises were juicy and attractive but after the victory come excuses. To me this is a very bad way of leading. We have learnt our lessons.
