Good day All. Could anyone advice me on the better of the two models; Mercedes-Benz E350 vs C240 both 2006.
I need something durable
Comfortable
Efficient
Easier menatainance

This, perhaps, is the simplest comparison i have come across on Nairaland.

You are comparing a bigger and smaller car, same model year, different class, different sizes, same maker. The novice answer would be the c class which is the little brother in everything. E is the big bro.

It's like comparing corolla and Camry.

I'd pick the E350 simply because it is faster.

The E class is way higher than the C class in terms of everything. Engine size, comfort, luxury items, options etc.

No doubt, the E-class is way higher than the C-class in every angle you are checking, but I don't know how deep your pocket is.

If you are a middle/average earner, go for the C-200 or 230, which is scarce to get in Nigeria these days. If you have any one abroad that can bring it for you, it is better than the rampant C-240 you see everywhere in Nigeria.

Whatever your options are, avoid the Kompressor version, which is cheaper and go for the 4matic version.

The8l + S/C kit which makes them as powerful as the C240.
Yet their engine and transmission are cheap. 200k can get you a replacement transmission and Engine. Previously, transmission was 30k engine 100k. I'd gladly do a kompressor over a c240 as long as its got the leather upholstery plus carbon fibre trim and alloy wheel, body coloured door handles and chrome tips and badged as an 'avantgarde' rather than the traditional 'classics' trim.

The 4matic variants are AWDs they got better grips and less likely to spin the rear wheels, but the front shafts, differentials, and Shocks are expensive than the non 4matic variants.

Actually, why not do a C350 or a C230 kompressor?
Avoid an E350 2005-6. They're prone to VGS and Balance shaft issues which was corrected in 2007-8.
If you must get the E class, do the facelift model 07/08.

Well. You're right, but that S/C is not a fragile item, its even simple to fix and once you're done, you reinitiate LIM/WOT adaptation. Very simple.

S/C= Supercharger, LIM= i dont know, WOT= Wide Open Throttle

Okay my boss,

S/c = supercharger
WOT= wide open throttle (in other words, pressing throttle pedal completely down to the floor)
LIM =means limp home mode (a kind of fail safe system in Benz which reduces its engine power when the car registers a malfunction so as to protect it from further damage).

Go for the normal engine. Kompressor engine is same thing as Turbo engine.
