The Delta State government has commenced twelve years abandoned Collage Hospital’s rehabilitation in Okeren Koko, Gbaramatus kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of the State.
Dr. Nicholas Azinge, the State Commissioner for Health who confirmed this to journalists yesterday in Asaba, disclosed that the hospital was built by the Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC) but was put in use, thereby making rot of the facilities. Saying that on inspection last Tuesday, the collage hospital was only being run by Tompolo Foundation in Okerenkoko, adding: “we were in Okerenkoko to see things on ground and we found out the collage hospital abandoned for 12 years ago, was only being run by Tompolo Foundation, and we as a government have commenced rehabilitation immediately”.
The Commissioner explained that the hospital, a decently built collage hospital was a decent operation theatre, laboratory, waiting room and 15 capacity bed space, adding: “we are impressed with what we saw on ground, the hospital has its own generating plant, and government will only spend less”.

According to Dr. Azinge, “In his quest to make his prosperity for all agenda possible, we ensure the hospital serves not only the neighbouring communities, but also people from Edo, Bayelsa and Ondo States” disclosing that a taskforce that would put specific things in place, had been set up to ensure everything about the hospital is completed in the shortest possible periods
