No judge agreed to grant her bail.
Grant her bail for what exactly? What criminal act did she commit?

Why is she still in jail since? Was she sentenced by any court of law?

I wonder o, this is a country where power intoxicate some people, the person behind this is one of the die hard fans of that pastor who is a powerful politician,am deist and a yoruba but I so respect Adeboye and tp Joshua because they always keep silent no matter wat people says about them, but nowadays powerful pastors are useless people on earth...

do not ignorantly comment. a citizen felt offended by her report about him, lodged a complaint to the police and she was arrested. lawfully charged to court, and was granted bail. that she could not meet her bail conditions and is still in prison is nobody's fault. once she meets her bail conditions she will be free from prison and the case will continue in court, otherwise she Will be going to court from prison. there is nothing NPF can do.

They are afraid of her, and her mouth if she turns on them. So they are happy she is in jail and silenced. Forget those fake bloggers, they are not clean and their way is not pure.

Even her family who is influential are probably happy because Kemi has insulted her father and his political friends and embarrassed her family multiple times. But I trust Kemi, she will come out fighting hard that the people that put her there will not recover.

Slander is not a criminal offense. No one should be arrested and charged to court for slander. You can file a lawsuit against the person and that's the maximum you can do. You cannot and should not be able to get anyone arrested for slander. That is a gross abuse of power and criminal use of authority by police and who ever paid for this disgrace of the Nigeria police force.

As a result of this issue, the police officer that approved the arrest should be the one arrested and charged to court. Not Kemi.

Suppose somebody feels offended by your post on Nairaland, will it be right to proceed like this
It cannot be right to use police for a case of defamation

Cybercrime.
What cybercrime? Who is the judge that refused by the way. These people's names and acts should be public for future reference.

I'm getting fed up with these god of men that thinks they can run the country. They've been intoxicated with their sheep and also get support from top politicians they have gotten so pompous and above the law.

That pastor whatever his name is has no right to arrest a person over statements made against him. What he should have done is to slap her with a lawsuit and make her retract her defaming statements. But he had to get police to drag her all the way from Ibadan to port Harcourt because of the powers vested in him. Gross abuse of powers in this country is so irritating.

From what I know, she exposed a pastor who may have had extra marital affairs.

By the way it's a shame on ajimobi that anyone can be kidnapped by police from his state and driven all the way to PH and locked up. Are their no jails in Ibadan if this case had any merit at all? This shows Ajimobi is lacking in his ability to protect the lives and rights of citizens in OYO.
Re: Release Kemi Olunloyo Unconditionally – Foreign Journalists Tell Nigeria Police by Trybes(m): 9:07am On Mar 26, 2017
She might have erred in her supposition. I think first she should have been compelled to retract the publication and tender unreserved apologies. To err especially in journalism is not uncommon I guess. If the writer refuses to accept the publication is false then legal action can be taken.

That is what you know, thankfully that is not what the police know and what the police know is why she was charged for cybercrime.

But you obviously don't know what she did. There is no evidence of cybercrime. Why have the police not come out to tell us what cybercrime she committed? Instead they are holding her illegally and kidnapped her. They are the ones that committed the crime her. Not Kemi.

That is you presupposed assumption, policing requires that not all evidence gathered against a suspect are made public, they can only be presented before a judge. And the police do not tell journalists their evidences, they tell courts, and that they have done.

Before you arrest someone, you must have done your due diligence and should be confident in telling the public what the person you arrested has committed. If you are confident in that arrest. The police is yet to come out to say what exactly she is being held for. So I ask you again, what type of cybercrime did she commit? You seem to know about this case and you are obviously playing hide and seek because you know it does not have any merit. Kemi was kidnapped not aressted.

Some one sent you a mail that Mr A who is a married man is fucking Mss C and as a journalist you couldn't even contact Mr A to get his own part of the story and you publish it, then u claim is not a criminal offence abi. What you have done is trying to destroy Mr A reputation and his marriage and God forbid he has a jealous wife who couldn't take it and decides to kill the husband over what you wrote, who's fault will that be?

Libel or defamation is Civil and not criminal. I would very much like to see the charge sheet of Kemi's case and the laws under which she's being detained. Buhari is the cause of all this nonsense. The DSS under Buhari has set the precedent for this by locking up politicians, journalists etc, for as long as they want without trial.
How can you lock someone up for an Instagram post!!! And our Vice President is a professor of Law!

Legally speaking that scenario that you've described is at best slander. Its not criminal! The rate at which big men rewrite out laws in this country is alarming!

They told you she was arrested for cybercrime and you are still asking for why she was arrested, is cybercrime not a crime in Nigeria? The details of her crime is meant for the courts and not media, if you are interested, attend her bail hearings this week, you will get more details there.

Coming to arrests, law enforcers only needs proof that a crime has been committed from a petitioner or complainant to arrest a suspect, take statements and arraign before a judge. An arraignment does not conclude an investigation as investigations can continue even during trials and that is why you see prosecutors amend charges during trials.

And when you say 'kidnap', you are opening yourself also for a possible arrests on grounds of false allegations as kidnap victims are taken to unknown/concealed destinations, but Kemi was taken before a judge. Pls take note.

Nonsense, this is not New York, They should just mind their own business. Trump banned some journalists from White House and they did nothing. Journalism is not about tarnishing people's image.

Is this a threat? I am not Kemi my dear, you and your co-collaborators will be exposed to the extent that your careers will be finished. Look, what cybercrime did she commit? You cannot just make blanket statements. From what is apparent she made an Instagram post. I ask you again, what cybercrime did Kemi commit. Police all over the world will make the information available. They will give access to lawyers and provide her bail. She did not commit murder, even if she committed a so called cybercrime which you know does not exist. You can't bully everyone, sorry.
