You need a truely democratic society where the people and the rule of law have the absolute say, for petitions to work.
For a people who wants the president to become more dictatorial so as to deal with his perceived enemies, and ignore court orders, signing petitions are a sweet joke. Who is going to enforce them? There is no constitutional backing for it.
These folks must think they are in america. cheesy

Thats a constitutional matter. Except the constitution is amended to take care of this and the law makers has the constitutional powers to do that. We must be very careful, the same national assembly had been there during the past regimes, buhari should learn how to work more harmoneously with the NA, no room for dictatorship.

Why is this not on front page? We also need each state to start paying for the expenses of its representatives.

Does it matter. I think we should have two. Just like USA model. Why change this system. I think a better issue to focus on is transparency on state and local government finances, local government autonomy by eliminting joint account provision and reducing power of emporers exuactives called governers.

1. House of Representatives that goes by population that gives advantage to populace states like Lagos and Kano.

1. Senate where even has same number of votes that gives advantage to smaller states have equal sway in country.

Lagos has same amount of votes Taraba has.

If dictatorship in the right direction for the right reason would cub the excesses and stupendous life and great level of irresponsibility of the NASS, then they should be done away with!
