A lot of employers in developed economies would rather hire applicants with both .It is a requirement of such economies. Nigeria seems not far from global market . So, I would rather demand for prospective applicant with degree plus certification .Why?

That's a wrong Competence Assurance Model to follow, determining the best personnel requires both skill, competency and qualifications which are all required traits if one is to be the right fit.

So having a degree and a certification will not mean a personnel or potential employee will do well or would achieve your organisation's objectives.
