The Vice Councillor has concluded that each student of Federal University of Technology Owerri are to pay a sum of 12500 before been allowed into the school.

It reads


All students of Federal university of technology owerri are informed that the University will resume academic activities in continuation of the 2016/2017 Harmattan Semester as follows:

Year I students are to return on Monday May 8, 2017.
Year two and Three students are to return on Wednesday, May 10, 2017
While Year four and five students are to return on Monday May, 15, 2017.
Please note that students will be allowed into the campus only after proper clearance on presentation of the following;

1 Evidence of payment of approved fees in addition to damage surcharges of N12,500 (twenty thousand, Five hundred naira) per student.
2. Notorise undertaking to be of good behaviour.

Students are therefore advised to pay all their fees plus the surcharge and obtain the notarized undertaking before the resumption date.
All undergraduate students should note that the 2016/2017 Harmatta Semester Examination will commence three weeks after resumption of students.


Federal University of Technology owerri, went on strike on 17th of February after the students protest against increment of school fees.
