Larisoft,
Brother,
Someone asked something like this a few months back.
If you sincerely want to know,
Pray fervently, fast (which is sometimes necessary) & allow the Holy Spirit to guide you to scriptures in the Word that will confirm the answer.
Perhaps your issue is with relying on "man" to answer you.

I've said this before: not everyone is "led" by the Spirit of God. God wants you to develop a relationship with Him...
Yes...sometimes He will use people to confirm something He has placed in your heart.
But their words need to line up with scripture.
Problem is everyone wants to have a title...and thereby have some sort of "higher value" among men.
Your eyes should ultimately stay focused on Christ...

i asked my Christian brethren this exact same question when i got into an argument with them.. they told me that if i read my bible the holy spirit would reveal the truth to me... i asked “why is it that the interpretation of the holy spirit is always based on denomination?? a Catholic, protestant, Adventist can claim to have the holy spirit yet have varying doctrines.. that says a lot about the holy spirit they claim to have... right now i think the holy spirit Jesus was talking of is entirely different from the kind portrayed in chuches

concerning the topic, i think people are using historical events to dictate what God is saying... e.g tithe meant for the jews, etc... if you have a question concerning a particular topic and want to know what God is saying, you can open a thread and weigh the comments from CHRISTIANS unbiasedly

If they are humans, get it right sometimes and do make mistakes sometimes; how do i know they are not making mistakes when they say “God told me”?

God has given his Church the authority to teach his truth (with the guidance of the Holy Spirit) to men.

Trust the Catholic Church. It has the fullness of God's revealed truths.

It is because some Christians believed they can know God's teaching more than the Church, by interpreting the Bible privately, that they now have millions of 'denominations' teaching contradictory doctrines, all claiming to be from One Holy Spirit.

They forget that Jesus never gave us the Bible. He gave us The Church - The Catholic Church. He never gave us denominations. It was the Catholic Church that gave us the Bible, almost 400 years after Christ.

When St. Paul wanted to be sure if his teaching were true, did he confirm from the Holy Spirit alone...or did he take what he felt the Holy Spirit was telling him to the Church heirarchy for confirmation?

There is only one Church founded by Jesus Christ. There is nothing like denominations. In the Bible, Jesus gave his Church the Holy Spirit to lead it to all truth. That is his preferred way of teaching the world. Not that individuals cannot hear directly from the Holy Spirit, they can, and do. But there are some possible shortcomings that can have. An individual can misunderstand the message of the Holy Spirit. An individual can hear from his own imagination and think it is the Holy Spirit...etc. That is why you have millions of protestant sects teaching contradictory doctrines today. They abandoned the Church and taught they could arrive at all truth by reading the Bible, fasting and praying. Their 'wisdom' has been shown to be great foolishness.

. MATTHEW 23:1-15.

THEN spake Jesus to the multitude,
and to his Disciples,
2. Saying,
"The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3. "All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe,
that observe and do;
but do not ye after their works:
for they say,
and do not.
4. "For they bind heavy burdens
and grievous to be borne,
and lay them on men's shoulders;
but they themselves
will not move them
with one of their fingers.
5. "But all their works
they do for to be seen of men:
they make broad their phylacteries,
and enlarge the borders of their garments,
6. "And love the Uppermost Rooms at feasts,
and the Chief Seats in the Synagogues,
7. "And greetings in the markets,
and to be called of men, 'Rabbi, Rabbi.'
8. "But be not ye called 'Rabbi:'
for one is your Master, even Christ;
and all ye are Brethren.
9. "And call no man your father upon the Earth:
for one is your Father,
Which is in Heaven.
10. "Neither be ye called masters:
for one is your Master,
(even) Christ.
11. "But he that is greatest among you
shall be your servant.
12. "And whosoever shall exalt himself
shall be abased;
and he that shall humble himself
shall be exalted.
13. "But woe unto you,
Scribes and Pharisees, Hypocrites!
for ye shut up The Kingdom of Heaven
against men:
for ye neither go in yourselves,
neither suffer ye them that are entering
to go in.
14. "Woe unto you,
Scribes and Pharisees, Hypocrites!
for ye devour widows' houses,
and for a pretence make long prayer:
therefore ye shall receive
The Greater Damnation.
15. "Woe unto you,
Scribes and Pharisees, Hypocrites!
for ye compass Sea and Land
to make one proselyte,
and when he is made,
ye make him
twofold more the Child of Hell
than yourselves."

ANYBODY who follows a PASTOR is a FOOL!

WHO TOLD YOU to follow a PASTOR?

. DEUTERONOMY 18:9-22.

9. When thou art come into the Land
which the LORD thy God giveth thee,
thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10. There shall not be found among you any one
that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire,
or that useth Divination, or an Observer of Times,
or an Enchanter, or a Witch.
11. Or a Charmer, or a Consulter with Familiar Spirits,
or a Wizard, or a Necromancer.
12. For all that do these things
are an abomination unto the LORD:
and because of these abominations
The LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13. Thou shalt be Perfect with the LORD thy God.
14. For these nations, which thou shalt possess,
hearkened unto Observers of Times, and unto Diviners:
but as for thee, the LORD thy God
hath not suffered thee so to do.
15. The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee
a Prophet from the midst of thee,
of thy Brethren, like unto Me;
unto him ye shall hearken;
16. According to all that thou
desiredst of The LORD thy God
in Horeb in the Day of the Assembly,
saying,

"Let me not hear again
The Voice of The LORD my God,
neither let me see this Great Fire any more,
that I die not."

17. And The LORD said unto me,

"They have well spoken
that which they have spoken.
18. "I will raise them up a Prophet
from among their Brethren,
like unto thee,
and will put My Words in his mouth;
and he shall speak unto them
all that I shall Command him.
19. "And it shall come to pass,
that whosoever will not hearken
unto My Words
Which he shall speak
in My Name,
I will require it of him.
20. "But the prophet,
which shall presume
to speak a word in My Name,
which I have not Commanded him to speak,
or that shall speak in the Name of other gods,
even that prophet shall die.
21. "And if thou say in thine heart,

'HOW SHALL WE KNOW THE WORD
WHICH THE LORD HATH NOT SPOKEN?'

22. "WHEN A PROPHET SPEAKETH
IN THE NAME OF THE LORD,
IF THE THING FOLLOW NOT,
NOR COME TO PASS,
THAT IS THE THING
WHICH THE LORD
HATH NOT SPOKEN,
BUT THE PROPHET
HATH SPOKEN IT PRESUMPTUOUSLY:
THOU SHALT NOT
BE AFRAID OF HIM.' "

I'm going to go out on a limb, here, and say that YOU NEVER READ ALL OF THESE SCRIPTURES BEFORE, have you?

I go to the trouble of copying and pasting these Scriptures in order to help those who do not have a Photographic Memory of The Whole Bible, and those who are POORLY-TAUGHT, and those who have no Bibles- some of whom MIGHT BE KILLED, if they were CAUGHT with a Bible, or a BIBLE APP on their phone.

Selfish fools who ONLY THINK ABOUT THEMSELVES, AND THEIR FRIENDS, complain about the amount of Scripture I use.

Yet, they call themselves "CHRISTIANS."

How do they know that some RELIGIOUS TERRORIST might not be reading one of these Messages, just before they are to go on an ATTACK- and because of what they read here, they decide not to obey their Orders- SPARING MANY LIVES?

In my Writings, I solve Problems that have not been solved for THOUSANDS OF YEARS.

Others did the "DONKEY-WORK," but I was the one honoured to "BRIDGE THE FINAL GAP," enabling people to see what no one could see in Centuries!

. LUKE 4:13-31.

13. And when the Devil
had ended all the Temptation,
he departed from him for a season.
14. And Jesus returned
in The Power of the Spirit
into Galilee:
and there went out a fame of him
through all the region round about.
15. And he taught in their Synagogues,
being glorified of all.
16. And he came to Nazareth,
where he had been brought up:
and, as his custom was,
he went into the Synagogue
on the Sabbath Day,
and stood up for to read.
17. And there was delivered unto him
The Book of the Prophet Esaias.
And when he had opened The Book,
he found the place where it was written,

18. "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME,
BECAUSE HE HATH ANOINTED ME
TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR;
HE HATH SENT ME
TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED,
TO PREACH DELIVERANCE
TO THE CAPTIVES,
AND RECOVERING OF SIGHT
TO THE BLIND,
TO SET AT LIBERTY
THEM THAT ARE BRUISED,
19. "TO PREACH
THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD."

20. And he closed The Book,
and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down.
And the eyes of all them that were in the Synagogue
were fastened on him.
21. And he began to say unto them,

"This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears."

22. And all bare him witness,
and wondered at the Gracious Words
which proceeded out of his mouth.
And they said,
“Is not this Joseph's son?”

23. And he said unto them,

“Ye will surely say unto me this Proverb,

'PHYSICIAN, HEAL THYSELF:
WHATSOEVER WE HAVE HEARD
DONE IN CAPERNAUM,
DO ALSO HERE IN THY COUNTRY.' “

24. And he said,

“Verily I say unto you,

'NO PROPHET IS ACCEPTED
IN HIS OWN COUNTRY.'

25. "But I tell you of a Truth,

'MANY WIDOWS WERE IN ISRAEL
IN THE DAYS OF ELIAS,
WHEN THE HEAVEN WAS SHUT UP
THREE YEARS AND SIX MONTHS,
WHEN GREAT FAMINE
WAS THROUGHOUT ALL THE LAND;
26. 'BUT UNTO NONE OF THEM
WAS ELIAS SENT,
SAVE UNTO SAREPTA,
A CITY OF SIDON, UNTO A WOMAN
THAT WAS A WIDOW.'

27. “And many lepers were in Israel
in the time of Eliseus the Prophet;
and none of them was cleansed,
saving Naaman the Syrian.”

28. And all they in the synagogue,
when they heard these things,
were filled with wrath,
29. And rose up, and thrust him
out of the city,
and led him unto the brow of the hill
whereon their city was built,
that they might cast him down headlong.
30. But he passing through the midst of them
went his way,

31. And came down to Capernaum,
a city of Galilee,
and taught them on the Sabbath Days.
32. And they were astonished at his Doctrine:
for his Word was with Power.

WHERE ARE YOU, IN THIS STORY?

Would you have respected YAHSHUA, or would you have tried to KILL him- or would you have stood by and done "NOTHING," which is "SIDING WITH THE AGGRESSOR, WITHOUT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR DOING SO" (Buddha).

What are you doing RIGHT NOW?

Am I not in YAHSHUA'S SANDALS, right now?

What have you done, while I worked to Liberate the Oppressed, open Blind Eyes, make the Deaf Hear, make the Dumb Speak, make the Lame Walk, make the Paralyzed Work?

Do you think that SALVATION and THE KINGDOM OF GOD need to be WHEELED TO YOU ON WHEELS?

Someone said i should cross-reference their statements with the Bible? That was also written by ‘men of God’. How do i know when they are not making mistakes? Since we know a couple of them actually did make mistakes?

That is what the FOOLS say!

. MARK 12:28-34.

28. And one of the scribes came,
and having heard them reasoning together,
and perceiving that he had answered them well,
asked him,

“Which is The First Commandment of all?”

29. And Jesus answered him,

“The First of all The Commandments is,

‘HEAR, O ISRAEL; THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD:
30. ‘AND THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD
WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL,
AND WITH ALL THY MIND, AND WITH ALL THY STRENGTH:’

this is The First Commandment.
31. “And The Second is like, namely this,

‘THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF.’

There is none other Commandment greater than these.”

32. And the scribe said unto him,

“Well, Master,
thou hast said The Truth:
for there is one God;
and there is none other but He:
33. “And to love Him with all the Heart,
and with all the Understanding,
and with all the Soul,
and with all the Strength,
and to love his Neighbour as himself,
is more than all
whole Burnt Offerings and Sacrifices.”

34. And when Jesus saw
that he answered discreetly,
he said unto him,

“Thou art not far
from The Kingdom of God.”

And no man after that durst ask him any question.

THE SHALLOW-MINDED FOOLS THINK THAT YAHSHUA AND THE PHARISEE WERE JUST HAVING A "NICE FRIENDLY CHAT!"

What was ACTUALLY happening was a DEADLY GAME of Cat & Mouse- where, if Yahshua gave the right WRONG ANSWER, they would have EXECUTED HIM IMMEDIATELY!

If he had SAID that "LOVING GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, ALL YOUR SOUL, ALL YOUR MIGHT, AND YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF, IS MORE THAN ALL WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND SACRIFICES!" they would have tried to KILL him IMMEDIATELY, for DISRESPECTING THE TEMPLE, ALTAR, AND SACRIFICES.

BUT these were just NONSENSE to YOU- because you NEVER had ANY intentions of LOVING GOD with all your HEART, all your SOUL, nor all your MIGHT, nor LOVING YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF.

"LOVE" means: "TO KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF."

. 1st JOHN 5:1-5.

WHOSOEVER believeth that Jesus is the Christ
is born of God:
and every one that loveth
Him that begat
loveth him also
that is begotten of him.
2. By this we know
that we love The Children of God,

"WHEN WE LOVE GOD,
AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS."

3. For THIS is The Love of God,

"THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS:"

and His Commandments are not grievous.
4. For whatsoever is born of God
overcometh the World:
and this is The Victory
that overcometh the World,

"EVEN OUR FAITH."

5. Who is he
that overcometh the World,
but he that believeth
that Jesus is The Son of God?

YOU HAVE NEVER BELIEVED IN THAT, THAT IS WHY YOU HAVE NO FOUNDATION, AND CANNOT KNOW THE TRUTH.

. JOHN 8:30-32.

30. As he spake these words,
many believed on him.
31. Then said Jesus to those Jews
which believed on him,
"If ye continue in my Word,
then are ye my Disciples indeed;
32. "And ye shall know The Truth,
and The Truth shall make you free."

THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD ARE THE BUILDING-BLOCKS OF ALL CREATION.

In order to PERCEIVE and KNOW The Truth therefore, it is necessary to PHYSICALLY-ENACT these Commandments- many of which, by now, you will have probably never INTENDED to do them in your life.

DECEIVERS, THEREFORE, have to STOP THEIR VICTIMS from actually DOING what YAHSHUA TAUGHT.

. LUKE 16:1-15.

AND he said also unto his Disciples,
"There was a certain rich man,
which had a steward;
and the same was accused unto him
that he had wasted his goods.
2. "And he called him,
and said unto him,
'How is it that I hear this of thee?
give an account of thy stewardship;
for thou mayest be no longer steward.'
3. "Then the steward said within himself,

'WHAT SHALL I DO?
FOR MY LORD TAKETH AWAY FROM ME THE STEWARDSHIP:
I CANNOT DIG;
TO BEG I AM ASHAMED.
4. 'I AM RESOLVED WHAT TO DO,
THAT, WHEN I AM PUT OUT OF THE STEWARDSHIP,
THEY MAY RECEIVE ME INTO THEIR HOUSES.'

5. "So he called every one
of his lord's debtors unto him,
and said unto the first,

'HOW MUCH OWEST THOU UNTO MY LORD?'

6. "And he said,

'AN HUNDRED MEASURES OF OIL.'

And he said unto him,

'TAKE THY BILL,
AND SIT DOWN QUICKLY,
AND WRITE FIFTY.'

7. "Then said he to another,

'AND HOW MUCH OWEST THOU?'

And he said,

'AN HUNDRED MEASURES OF WHEAT.'

And he said unto him,

'TAKE THY BILL,
AND WRITE FOURSCORE.'

8. "And the lord commended the Unjust Steward,
because he had done wisely:
for the Children of This World are in their Generation
wiser than the Children of Light.
9. "And I say unto you,

'MAKE TO YOURSELVES FRIENDS
OF THE MAMMON OF UNRIGHTEOUSNESS;
THAT, WHEN YE FAIL,
THEY MAY RECEIVE YOU
INTO EVERLASTING HABITATIONS.'

10. "He that is faithful
in that which is least
is faithful also in much:
and he that is unjust in the least
is unjust also in much.
11. "If therefore ye have not been faithful
in the Unrighteous Mammon,
who will commit to your trust
the True Riches?
12. "And if ye have not been faithful
in that which is another man's,
who shall give you that which is your own?
13. "No servant can serve two masters:
for either he will hate the one,
and love the other;
or else he will hold to the one,
and despise the other.
Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
14. And the Pharisees also, who were covetous,
heard all these things: and they derided him.
15. And he said unto them,
"Ye are they which
justify yourselves before men;
but God knoweth your hearts:
for that which is
highly esteemed among men
is Abomination in The Sight of God."

WHEN YOU WERE A FALSE CHRISTIAN, DIDN'T YOU USED TO DISCOURAGE AND MOCK THOSE WHO WERE TRYING TO OBEY YAHSHUA?

Is THAT not how you got into your current state?

. JOHN 7:14-19.

14. Now about the midst of the feast
Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
15. And the Jews marvelled, saying,

"How knoweth this man letters,
having never learned?"

16. Jesus answered them,
and said,

"My Doctrine is not mine,
but His that sent me.
17. "If any man will do His Will,
he shall know of the Doctrine,
whether it be of God,
or whether I speak of myself.
18. "He that speaketh of himself
seeketh his own glory:
but he that seeketh His Glory that sent him,
the same is true,
and no unrighteousness is in him.

19. “Did not Moses give you The Law,
and yet none of you keepeth The Law?
Why go ye about to kill me?”

In these circumstances, it seems to me that its not just a question of believing in God; but there’s also a high probability one could follow God’s instructions sincerely and religiously and still end up in hell.

That means that you think that GOD is STUPID, and does not know how to give CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS to GUIDE His Servants to their proper Destinations- that is, to HIM.

How could you possibly succeed with God, thinking like that?

. LEVITICUS 17:11.

11. "For the life of the flesh is in the blood:
and I have given it to you upon the Altar
to make an Atonement for your souls:
for it is the blood that maketh
an Atonement for the soul."

. JOHN 12:44-50.

44. Jesus cried and said,
“He that believeth on me,
believeth not on me,
but on Him that sent me.
45. “And he that seeth me
seeth Him that sent me.
46. “I am come a Light into the World,
that whosoever believeth on me
should not abide in Darkness.
47. “And if any man hear my Words,
and believe not,
I Judge him not:
for I came not to Judge the World,
but to save the World.
48. “He that rejecteth me,
and receiveth not my Words,
hath One that judgeth him:
The Word that I have spoken,
the Same shall judge him
in The Last Day.
49. “For I have not spoken of myself;
but the Father which sent me,
He gave me a Commandment,
what I should say,
and what I should speak.
50. “And I know
that His Commandment
is Life Everlasting:
whatsoever I speak therefore,
even as the Father said unto me,
so I speak."

THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD ARE THE PRINCIPLES OF LIFE.

Each of the 613 Commandments of The Law (allowing for redundancies,) addresses a different aspect of Life, whereby no knowledgeable person has any excuse for doubting that YAHWEH GOD is the Source of all Life.

Spiritual Energy is accumulated by keeping The Commandments of God.

When enough Energy is built up, the Special Fundamental Attributes of Spiritual Beings become enabled:

. THE TEN TALENTS OF POWER. (Matthew 25:1-46.)

1. TOTAL RECALL.
2. EXTRASENSORY PERCEPTION.
3. TELEKINESIS.
4. TELEPORTATION.
5. TRANSLATION.
6-10. EVERLASTING LIFE.

THIS ENABLING PROVES TO YOU THAT YOU ARE ON THE CORRECT PATH.

DOUBT becomes doubly stupid.

Just wondering, what type of outreach/ministry do you engage in with your church? Do you follow Christ' teaching on that brother?

the holy spirit should be so distinguishable that nobody should ever mistake the holy spirit for their mere imagination... also, there should be a yardstick for who is hearing from their imagination or who is hearing from the holy spirit
If that is the case tell me why the so-called spirit-filled church still differ in doctrine, 30,000 differing denomination is proof that 'private inspiration' doesnt guarantee truth.

Hello OP... I perceive your sincerity but I must quickly confess to you that what you are seeking for can only be found on a personal journey. What we can offer at best is just a guide and not what God is saying to you. So please sir I suggest to you this book to read "Knowing the Voice of God" by Rev. Joshua Tende of the Father's Delight Ministry International in zaria. It will really help you. It helped me.

Should I be blowing my own trumpet? No.

One thing...we listen to the Church on matters of faith and doctrine, as the early Christians did in Acts 15.

Brother,
You definitely blow your "own" trumpet...loud & clear.
I'm surprised you don't need earplugs....

that's my point... I'm sceptical about their claim of the “holy spirit".... i don't trust any denomination... there has to be a yardstick to confirm who really has the holy spirit cuz anyone can wake up and make such claims

I would have been bothered...but your opinions are often wrong.

Like when you said baptism, communion etc are not rituals.

"love your neighbor as you love yourself"

That's the parameter to confirm what God is saying.

Is that difficult for you to understand?

you don't need a god for that, you know?

Confucius was the first to teach that, Mozi and Laozi too

In a way, yes

When God speaks through any man of God, it must be consistent with the teachings of Jesus and his Apostles. They laid the foundation for the Church.

Apostle Paul placed a curse on anyone who preaches any gospel different from what the Apostles preached - Galatians 1:8-9.

Brother,
I thank you for helping me with my character development.
I'm itching to "go there" with you.....but that would be unChrist-like.
You really should re-read my comments on the "ritual" thread....
But I know that will hurt your pride.
Brother Wilgrea7 nicely corrected me...although there are other definitions for the word.
However, thanks for assisting me where I may have made an error(s).
I'm open to correction...as the Bible states we should be.
Cause see.....I DON'T know it all just yet.

When St. Paul wanted to be sure if his teaching were true, did he confirm from the Holy Spirit alone...or did he take what he felt the Holy Spirit was telling him to the Church heirarchy for confirmation?
Passage please.

But, here is what The Apostle Paul said about asking men about spiritual truths.

And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
Galatians:1: 14-17

When The Apostle Paul was converted and got baptised by Aneaniahs, he didn't go to Jerusalem to confer with the Old Apostles, he went straight for the mission he was called into, trusting only the Holy Spirit. He returned to Jerusalem to see Apostle Peter after three years in Arabia.

So, i don't know maybe you can throw more light, am open to learn.

BTW, good to see you.
