In the course of my discussion with a brother this morning at Ede, he narrated to me what happened to his immediate younger brother.

He said, after his brother finished his WAEC exams, an uncle of his got him a job at the Poweline in Osogbo. Unfortunately, his job definition was on installations surveillance. This required every second of his duty-time on monitoring. To put it straight, he had to combine Dhuhr, Asr and Magrib at home, everyday.

According to him, every time he combined those salawaat, he always asked for Allaah's forgiveness. This continued for like 3 months, until he became shy to say, "AstagfiruLlaah". At this juncture, he decided to resign from the job.

Some few months after his resignation, he gained admission into a Polytechnic. Shortly after writing his 1st semester exams, he was not destined to even see his own results; he died. انا لله و انا اليه الرجعون.

This is the reality of our lives in this worthless and ephemeral world. Imagine this brother still working with the Pipeline, receiving fat salary, and saying " AstagfiruLlaah" on a perpetual sin!?
