Come on, man! One similarity in belief in a supreme being is extremely tenuous evidence. It doesn't even begin to approach evidence. When you sit down to think about it, the link makes no sense. The language is not remotely the same, we have no written or even oral traditions and history bequeathed to us by our ancestors suggesting such roots, not even our calligraphy system, not even artifacts and archaeological pieces suggesting such links, not DNA evidence (African Americans today can track their roots right down to the tribe from which their slave ancestors originated). Nothing. I find it embarrassing because it smacks of trying to dissociate ourselves from our African roots - as if we're too good to be yoked with other Africans.

Afonja...any mention of Igbo Jewish connection, infuriates them out of deep seated envy in them. Someone should show this envious thing the ObuGad archeological proof in Aguleri, Anambra state. Also let him know that Gad whose archeological proof is in Anambra can also be found in the bible. His sons names also in the bible are Igbo names...they are: Eri, Arodi, Areli, Ezegbon and Haggi. These are all Igbo names FOUND IN THE BIBLE. His first son Eri settled in what is today AgulEri named after him.
