I made it clear I don't support most of his policies - so what are you saying? When he does well, I commend him. When doesn't I criticise.

The last post refers to insults to the office of the presidency. So what's your grouse there? Didn't the APC denigrate the office with the last occupant? The APC started what they could not finish that's why you see demeaning insults to President Buhari as was the case with President Jonathan. I respect the office and so would not insult the president whether I support him or not - that's my conviction, but others may not be so generous since they might want to collect their pound of flesh - and the vicious circle continues.

I would vote Peter should he contest - no questions asked. His ideology is more of fiscal conservatism which is more or less in line with Atiku's whom I also said is one northerner I could vote for. I don't support blatant welfarism and economics with a socialist bent which looks like the hallmark of President Buhari and the APC at the centre. That is why were I American for example, my natural home would be the Republican Party or a Brit, the Conservative Party and so on. Not like the average Nigerian whose politics is to support someone because 'na my broda' with her politicians changing parties the way they change undies daily. So M. Progressive01, what is your political philosophy?

Finally, that post is directed to hypocrites in your camp who want to depose a legitimately elected president of his mandate through the back door. Their tongues are publicly with the president but their hearts are far off.

I liked your post not because I agree with all you said but it's refreshing to see someone as well informed and articulate as you are on this forum. Its a welcome departure from the tribalists and nepotics that habe almost taken over nairaland. Im more drawn to democrats though because of their stand on social issues. I think the GOP has been taken over by the neurotic, lying and hypocritical trump gang.

I respect your choice to follow leftist ideology. One thing I don't like about the party - apart from her economic liberalism - is her blatant hypocrisy.

Read these two links by a staunch democrat then we continue the discussion.

As a President whatever you say in a casual manner immediately becomes funny never mind if what he said was "Your father left yansh!" It's one of the perks of the position.

Buhari might not make it to 2019.

If buhari gets too sickly and osinbajo becomes president. I pray God gives him and d houses of assembly the courage to restructure this country.
Or at least put the country on a path to restructuring and true federalism.

It's not too late for buhari though, since d economy is really tarnishing his name, Restructuring or giving states at least 60% of their own income (while 40% goes federal) would be a great legacy for him to leave behind.

@bolded: Not always bruv. I know someone employed in a bank who had an accident in which he broke a few bones. Couldn't come to work for 5 months. His company didn't sack him but showed support. When he recovered fully he went back to work.

Come to think of it, if your company which you had served for a number of years were to fire you just because you were seriously ill for 2-3 months, I bet you'd call them a bunch of ingrates.

Let's stop stigmatizing people with ill health. No one is infallible
