A former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has described as untrue reports that he may defect with his supporters from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Six lawmakers in the Lagos State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the PDP last week announced their defection to APC.

The lawmakers include Akeem Bello (Amuwo Odofin II) who was Minority Leader and the Minority Whip, Mosunmola Sangodara (Surulere II).
Others are Jude Idimogu (Oshodi/Isolo II), Dayo Famakinwa (Ajeromi Ifelodun II), Oluwa Fatai (Ajeromi/Ifelodun I) and Olusola Sokunle (Oshodi/Isolo I).
Only two members – Victor Akande (Ojo I) and Dipo Olorunrinu (Amuwo-Odofin I) are now in the opposition.
A chieftain of the APC who spoke to condition of anonymity said they are working to bring Obanikoro and his supporters into their fold.
However, Obanikoro,m who spoke through his media aide, Jonathan Eze said he has never contemplated leaving the PDP for another party.
According to him “ Please disregard the report. It is a lie from the pit of hell. Joining APC? That is the last thing I will ever do”.
