You would be right if was asking the person to repair but its my way of knowing if the alternator has issue discharging power while off.


















Proper way to check a charging system is using a volt meter. wink

Get that Rewire Shut by firing squad... You can check your alterternator by putting a metal object beside it while the vehicle is off if it will magnet on the metal object then it's bad but if not then it's OK. Run a Diagnoses to ascertain the fault as there are many things issues that could cause that happening t

When the engine is off, put a metal screw driver close to identify an attraction or not..... If there is then there is a leakage from the battery.

But our car ODO reads in KM not Miles right? If so,


* lets agree you said every 80, 000miles which should mean 130, 000km ...
*If the odo is in KM, I imported the car at 120k km. Which means am due for a change at the current 151, 220 as we speak..

sorry, a blunder there. 80,000km. Change intervals which is approximately 48,000miles. @ 151,000 you are most certainly ready for a new belt, or you just got one before the car was shipped in.
