So it is the non Christians that should engage in political rallies? Imagine what a Nigerian is posting when we should all be on d street protesting d hardship both past and present government is inflicting on d masses. We all keep mute cos we r afraid of protest and believe God will see us through. You have to fight for what you want.

Seriously? Political rallies and protest grounds? How do you think Martin Luther King achieved what no one else could. A person that doesn't take part in the politics that will define his future and that of his children is a fool.

Besides social media? Are you heeding to your own advice?

Re: 7 Places Christians Should Avoid Visiting by terrezo2002(m): 4:12pm On May 14, 2017
The sad thing is that you will see these christians going to such places after agreeing to the fact that it is not good for them to be there.
24 "Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25 The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, but it did not collapse because it had been founded on rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain fell, the flood came, and the winds beat against that house, and it collapsed; it was utterly destroyed!" Matt 7:24-27

But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves. Jam 1:22

1. Nite clubs

The level of pride that goes on in a nite club is way too much to the extent that you might get punched for something as little as stepping on someone’s toes mistakenly, even after apologizing. It’s also a place where stupidity is exalted and showered with praises. Or what’s the rationale behind buying a very expensive bottle of champagne then using it to wash your hand or pouring it on the floor? That amount you spent on that bottle is exactly what many work every month just to earn. Christians should stay away from such influences.

2. Worldly music concerts

Apart from the foul lyrics in the songs played and the excessive use of hard drug in such concerts, something else goes on unnoticed- People are made to worship Satan. When Jay-Z tells fans at his concert to use their hands to make a sign, most don’t know that it is a sign of Satan. Akon does something similar too. This is tantamount to pledging allegiance to the power behind the sign. Just as people did the Nazi salute to Hitler, Christians in such concerts pledge allegiance to Satan by observing those signs.

3. Political rallies

You pledge allegiance to political parties when you attend their rallies and repeat their slogans. These parties don’t care about you, that’s why they’ve been failing you for years. Their goal is to amass wealth while they impoverish you. The only time they remember you is when they give you crumbs just to attend their rallies where you might get stampeded or shot by political thugs of rival parties.

4. Protests grounds

Protests can be peaceful while some can be bloody. The bloody ones most times end with shops and stores looted and people killed by riot policemen. The reason why I wouldn’t want Christians to join the peaceful ones is that we don’t always know the intention of the organizers. Some of them usually get paid to stage such, while some get paid to call it off thereby disappointing all those who thought the protest will lead to a good solution to their problems.

5. Pagan festivals

Pagan festivals are beginning to look well packaged and fun, unlike what they were known to be- bloody rituals. This is why some Christians think it is cool to partake in Eyo masquerade festival or in Halloween. We shouldn’t allow the fact that these festivals have been reformed to look cool. Their root is what should bother us and keep us away from partaking in such.

6. Prosperity preaching churches

These churches blindfold you and prevent you from preparing for the hard times Christians are about to face. Many Christians are getting persecuted in Iraq and the whole Middle East, but all they make you concerned about is how the New Year will be your year and how you will get undeserved favor from God. That is why people go to church because of what they want from God, not what they want to give in service to God. But if a church besides their gets bombed one Sunday, I can bet you that theirs will be empty the following Sunday. Why? Because they don’t want to die before receiving their undeserved prosperity from God.

7. Social media

I can’t say you should stay away from social media, but use it wisely. Satan desires every good thing which he aims to destroy, that is why there are so many fowl spirits on social media these days influencing people wrongly. Agents are currently using it to demonize marriage and even promote divorce which they make no big deal of by appearing blissful in pictures after the break up. Don’t be fooled; it is only the wearer of the shoes that know where it hurts. Don’t let the glamour you see make you feel sad about your status. Most of them are fake. Not using social media wisely is one of the reasons why some women hated their husband for not being able to buy them the things a Nollywood Actress’ husband bought her. Well, what a relief to discover that those things were actually bought by the lady herself and not her husband. Those celebs you follow, why do you follow them?

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Op. was very subjective... Not assertive... but wonderful points and suggestions. Then you choose what to do... I weep for Nigeria... we can't attain greatness with the kind of youths we have... Read through the comments here and you will realize that... Very disturbing future mothers and Father, lacking in interpretation of facts... Baseless, in constructive criticism... That's why we lack the morale to question the idiosyncratic democracy practiced in Nigeria by the Ghana must go carrying politicians...

In as much as I agree with you on the list, I strongly disagree on numbers 3 and 4. Only in Nigeria is politics seen as a dirty game. Be that as it may, things are changing now. All we need as a people is change our orientation and vote right. If we ignore political rallies, where we can voice our opinions and support or cheer our preferred candidate to victory, if the wrong candidate grabs the position, it will affect us in every way...economically, religiously, socially, academically...etc and when we're affected, we MUST not complain of marginalisation or corruption. Also, Protest is a means of channelling our grievances to either the government or our employers. It's necessary Christians participate if the protest is in the common interest of us all. If not for the series of protests staged in lagos and other cities during the military era, we would not have had democracy today. I once experienced military government misrule in the mid 80s. I can't forget a day when one of my twin brothers was coming from work in ring road area of Ibadan early 90s, when military bullet flew across his nose suddenly. Eni olorun o pa, Oba kan ko Lee paa( he/she who God doesn't kill, no king can dare kill the person). He only smelled the bullet and heard the sound as it whizzed past his nose. I'll always pray soldiers don't come back again to our streets because Nigeria was like a lawless state and a wilderness. Military would kill, maim, molest, rape , harass citizens anyhow, no freedom of speech, nothing. Protest drove them to their barracks perpetually. On the social media thing, I'd also like to say a few things about it because it has done a lot of people more evil than good. I heard a lady pastor preach last week in America that if you're not happy in your marriage, you can stage a walk out because God wants you to be happy, she was even quoting the scriptures to back her claims. She said many have complained about the bible, being full of many errors which need to be corrected...she said most of those laws on marriage don't apply in the present day life...well, I leave that to God to decide because she even said she prayed for God's inspiration and direction before mounting the pulpit and He laid some scriptures verses into her heart. Dating sites are becoming highly patronised these days and many are falling victims of scam and frauds. I read of a medical doctor recently, who met a girl on bado dating site and the lady drugged him in the hotel room and drove his vehicle away...in some cases, guys would be left lifeless in the the bed in the hotel room by demonic girls they met online and vice versa. Ladies are being declared missing everyday . They always say they met their male partners on social media . Christians should be careful when visiting the dating sites because it's very risky. Hardly can one found mannered and good wife material on those sites and vice versa. There are Christians' dating sites which are recommendable.
