It isn't narrow bro.
17 to 18% per annum is cool.
In fact, this the highest in the past 7 years or more.
It was less than 5% at some point last yr at sec market.
I didn't do yearly though. Did 139 days at 14.5 % with Access.
Stanbic and First banks have the best rates anyway.

I can't seem to see anything of such. So where did it drop exactly? In the mind of the writer or what?

In fact, the cost of things have increased in some places. However, most of the increases in price is arbitrary. Nigerian retailers are not honest people. They want to rip off customers at all cost, even when they know that the wholesale price of goods have reduced.

I'm sure you understand when the inflation rate drops it means the rate at which inflation increases has dropped.

And you that are smart failed to factor in the foundation of our problems. We squandered our highest revenues ever under GEJ and were left broke when the price of oil crashed when this government came in.

No need to argue, just go and throw your salary away and see whether you will be balanced financially in the coming month or months.

After that come and argue with me.

The manner at which an average Nigeria thinks amazes me sometime, the bad we commoners do to our economy is more than those perpetuated by the the so called elites. For example A crate of egg is now #850 which sold for almost #1200 a month ago, yet some people are saying they have not felt the decline in inflation.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), inflation rate dropped to 17.24 percent (year-on-year) in April, declining by 0.02 percent from the figures recorded in March 2017, TheCable.ng reports.

Like seriously, is this meant to be a joke?!

Meanwhile inflation still in double digits is nothing to be proud of. The UK today has a rate of 2.7% and yet they won't let their government hear word. We are here talking about a decline of 0.02%
What a shame

Exactly the point. A decline of 0.02% and rate still over 17%

Meaning N1000 last year now worth N830, and this is being celebrated?

Mediocrity will not kill us in Nigeria hopefully.

Egg moved from N35 to N50 over here ever since recession, even for egg that is as small as lizard egg sef it's still N50. Nothing has really reduced...

TheHerald:
After 15 months on the rise, the consumer price index (CPI) which measures inflation rate in the Nigerian economy has been on the decline, dropping for the third consecutive month.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), inflation rate dropped to 17.24 percent (year-on-year) in April, declining by 0.02 percent from the figures recorded in March 2017, TheCable.ng reports.

“This is the third consecutive month of a decline in the headline CPI rate, exhibiting effects of some easing in already high food and non-food prices, as well as favourable base effects over 2016 prices,” NBS said via its inflation report for April 2017.

“Increases were recorded in all COICOP divisions that yield the Headline Index. The top items to have recorded the highest year on year increases across all the divisions were Solid Fuels, Bread and Cereals, Meat, Liquid Fuels, Clothing materials, other articles of clothing and clothing accessories, and Fish.”

On a month-on-month basis, the headline index increased by 1.60 percent in April 2017, 0.12 percent points lower than the rate recorded in March.

On this basis, the highest rise in prices was dominated by food items including coffee, tea and cocoa, potato, yam and tubers, bread and cereals, milk cheese and eggs and meat and fish.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) aims to see inflation cut to about 15 percent by the end of 2017.
