What Is/are The Legacy Of The Biafran War? by smile4kenn(m): 11:05pm On Jan 13, 2010
What is your abiding memory of the Republic of Biafra?

It is 40 years since the end of Nigeria's civil war which pitted the people of the east and south-east against the country's federal government.

After three years of fighting and more than a million lives lost the war ended with the Nigerian state intact. Biafra was crushed but for many the scars have yet to heal.

What are your personal memories of the war? What has its legacy been for Nigeria and its people? Have the ideals behind Biafra been lost? What impact did the war have on the rest of Africa?

Only Eziachi and Dede1 are capable of answering these questions. Many people here were born after the war.

Word can't describe how I feel right now. That many like me survived and to see our Ikemba also growing old gracefully and very much alive to be able to tell those that murdered our sleep in order to get one Nigeria that-WE TOLD YOU SO!

We stopped fighting in 1970 when we realised that those fighting us wants more than just winning a war but to wipe us out as a people, not just Igbos but our dearest Efik and Ibibio people that stuck with us. We knew this day will come, but what non of us ever invsage was that it will come in our life time.

Biafra freedom is written in the stars but the day it will happen, those that kill us in drove to keep one Nigeria will be so sick to see our face and will beg us to leave them alone.

Biafra is more than a nation, but it is now a state of mind for those fighting for freedom. Biafra stands for liberty, truth, freedom, peace, justice for everyone all over the world wo accepts the spirit of the Biafran Soldiers.

Legacy is that the bearded idiot murdered his kinsmen for his own stupid ambition.
Looks like Biafran dreamers at a fairyland playground here.  Reminiscence of Biafra?

Get real! Biafra was dead the day it was conceived. Of course it still exists in the minds of
"stuck in the sixties" Eziachi@co

Biafra is for all oppressed people. It's not just a physical geographical place but a state of mind and commitment to serve humanity, protect human rights and stand for freedom. Once you stand for these points BIAFRA is achieved within and outside the boundry of Naija.

That bearded slowspoke has outlived his enemies, son of billionaire who spent his inheritance on his people instead stealing from them like Bode George and others, oxford first class degree holder, defender of his people at the age of 30 and that same people crowned him their "IKEMBA". If that is what it mean to be slowspoked, I want to be one myself.

We rather be Biafra daydreamers than to be Nigeria nightmarishers. As when Martin Luther king was dreaming, nightmerishers like you will never had thought that Obama will become a reality 2009.
Biafra is dead according to you, it then nice to know that you spent what left of your wasted life talking about a dead issue. What does that say about?
You knwo what they say; Let the dead bury the dead.
